It is a nice big open space, but a lot of reactive dogs!

The place is big with lots of space to run around but the crowd is too unpredictable. Our golden retriever got attacked and bit at this park by a pretty reactive dog. On top of that, the owner of the dog left immediately without a trace as soon as she saw our pup was hurt. We ended up having to treat him for a pretty nasty staph infection and multiple wounds.

I now prefer dog areas that require sight and sound tags because owners are more likely to train and be in tune with their dogs.

Use at your own risk :)

    Great park

on a road trip and this was a great option for the 4 days we were here. lots of room to run, lots of alert doggie parents and friendly dogs to play with.

Big space, variety of dogs, variety of owners!

Nice big space with all kinds of dogs. Our dog has no trouble finding friends to run around with. Three issues: there's always a lot of poop lying around, which my dog likes to eat; I spend a fair amount of time cleaning up the poop piles. There are often owners who have no control over their dogs. When I hear someone saying to their dog, "Be nice, be nice", I know they can't control their dog. I've seen small people with big dogs that they can't control on leash, holding on with all their strength and unable to control their dogs. We just leave before things get out of control. And people bring small kids into the park, who are easily knocked over by dogs running and playing.

    Love it!

The park seems like a good place, I went there today and there is plenty of room for my dog to run. I have an Aussie Cattle Dog and she requires room to run. She loved it there! My Rottie enjoyed it too. I'm pretty sure the people that posted negative reviews are people with whiny little yip yip dogs and they are terrified at the sight of Rottie, Pitbull, or Doberman. Dogs are dogs. 99% of the time they are nice to each other.....until you bring in a territorial dog like a Dachsund, Chihuahua, Pomeranian, or Yorkie. It's people like that that make it hard for dogs like mine.

Would be good without so many aggro dogs

I used to love taking my dog here, but now it's just too much. Too many owners who don't pay attention, and too many aggressive dogs. Once there are more than 5 or 6 dogs at a time, something always happens. I'd say the last 5 out of 7 times, we had to leave almost immediately because of this. I can't support this place any more. Shame because it's only my dog that really suffers. Go to Foothills or East Boulder.

Not Just Best, But Only Choice

This park has it all. Mainly it's big. Boulder has to be one of the most dog-unfriendly community. #1 in my opinion. Dogs must be on-leash in entire town. Huge Open Space Mountain Park, but does on-leash only. Exception for about $75 buy a Voice/Sight tag. This liberal community wants free rein only for its humans.

    Be VERY careful

Since they redid the park, I've stopped going. There are a ton of irresponsible owners who don't understand dogs at all as well as highly wound up dogs. I didn't have this problem before, since dogs could easily run away from each other. However, now, I've had my dog attacked, who used love all dogs, and seen four other dogs attacked. This is more than just the normal high energy that happens at dog parks. I refuse to go there anymore since it is just too dangerous for my pup after work.

    Awesome Dog Park!!

Today I took my 6 month old St Bernard to get her out and get some exercise. She had a blast!!! The people and the dogs were so nice! She played and played, ran around chasing other dogs, them chasing her! I was an all around good time. There are big trees for shade, chairs, big boulders, it was clean-I can't enough good about it. This will not be our last visit. Thank for the opportunity to come here.

    What a dog park!

This was probably one of the biggest dog parks we have been too. Always busy; plenty of dogs and friendly people. I would however state that there wasn't much cleaning up after dogs going on; watch your step! We loved this place and brought our dog here everyday while we were in town.

    Great dog park

We take our Sophie to Valmont because she gets great exercise and because the people and dogs have been consistently nice. There is a lot of room for little packs to form and run around, for dogs who want to play fetch, and for dogs who just want to explore. Just about everyone who goes is well-attentive to what's going on, and I haven't seen anyone with a poorly behaved dog. It's a fun and safe environment for dogs to socialize.
