Hay Creek Day-Use Area
Hay Creek Management Unit, situated in Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest, is accessible from State Highway 58 in Red Wing, MN. Spanning 1,500 acres, the rugged hillsides are primarily forested with oaks, complemented by elm, birch, basswood and black cherry trees. Visitors enjoy diverse, pet-friendly trail loops offering varying terrains, from creek bottoms to scenic vistas, popular for fly fishing in the Hay Creek trout stream, horseback riding on 15 miles of equestrian trails, and picnicking with river access.
