best dog park I’ve ever been to. huge space, two beaches, 3 good access points for water, and 1 with a dock. water was shallow in late august (waist high). Well maintained. Dog had the best time.

I go there quite often, because I don't like to walk my dog on a leash. I love seeing the younger dogs, but my dog doesn't play so we just walk together. Lots of room for the big dogs to play.

We have taken our new dog here a few times and LOVE it. So much for our pup to see and do. Open spaces to run, woods to explore, and water to play in.

It has been a few years since I have been here, but last I was, certain people had aggressive dogs in the park, they chased my dog out to the highway as well as went after a couple other dogs. The owner laughed it off and said they were just playing around.
I complained to the Dane County Parks, was refunded my yearly fee and have NEVER been back.

Big wonderful park with a beach and dock area, permits required and sold onsite for $5/day, $30/yr. Dont park at Hwy N/B like I did, continue south along Hwy N about a half mile and a much closer entrance is right there.

Great park with clean river access! Dock for jumping off and lots of open running space. We had a great time!
- RyanMore than a year agoViking park has 2 beaches
This a really good dog park. While the park is pretty flat, there is two small beaches, some small wooded trails and lots of open field for the dogs to play fetch or just run. I discovered this park last year when all of the other Dane county parks and state parks were having problems with water quality. The two beaches are clean and the water current is appropriate, and the marshland on the opposite shore seems to help filter the water to keep it safe for dogs and people. There are pit toilets near the entrance for humans, but like most Dane county parks this one lacks a water spicket to get drinking water for your dog, so be sure to bring a bowl and jug of water for your furry friends.
