Love that the dog park is shaded but it is terribly maintained & dirty.

I am truly disappointed with the condition of the small dog park. It was awful, and not maintained at all !!! We wanted to walk the trail that was nearby but we felt fearful because of the wild Amazon like brush on both side of the trail with an Alligator sign this deterred us. Bottom line, save yourself a trip and STAY AWAY! Welcome to Florida.

Was excited to find this park but after taking my dog there was disappointed. My dog is extremely well behaved and was just running around being playful with other dogs and my dog is not even remotely aggressive but another person yelled at me rudely and told me to control my dog. There was another dog there too who was very aggressive and was attacking other people’s dogs and the owner was chasing him around with a spray bottle. After being yelled at and having an aggressive dog terrorize the other animals I decided to leave , and I’m honestly scared to go back

This is the best dog park I have found in Sarasota. Very confusing to get inside, they have two entrances one for small dogs under 20 pounds and one for big dogs over 20 pounds. The signs look identical except for the word under and over are changed. Also says no dogs allowed in the paw park but this is obviously not true, dogs are welcome in the paw park and do not have to be leashed inside. Some of the best dogs I’ve met have been at this park. I go every weekend.

There is no supervision. My dog was attacked by a vicious dog. A woman was bitten recently and emts were called. dogs roam free and some dog owners do not control them. Very risky. I will stay away.

Nice park to let the pups run and hang out. Lots of shade and benches to sit. Fresh watering area and small plastic pools to cool the toes.

Large, open space with plenty of shade and friendly faces. There was water on site, several "watering holes", tennis balls, and a puppy pool as well as bags for my human to clean up after me. To find the park my humans turned into Woodmere Park and parked our truck in the first parking lot on the right; it was white sand while everything else was paved. There was a sign saying no pets allowed BUT that sign was NOT for the dog park off the parking lot. There is a sign for the dog park in the parking lot. I had plenty of space to run around after three days in the truck and met a few friends to run with there! I hope my humans bring me back to this place, it's a paradise!

Yes, there is indeed a Paw Park in the Woodmere Park neighborhood! Just found it today and pleasantly surprised. Even though the entrance to Woodmere Park has a "no pets" sign, your dog is welcome inside. Two separate areas for small and large breeds, nice shade trees, water and benches. Lots of people love the dog beach in Venice, but I find it alarming for my small dog. This is perfect!

MY LITTLE DOG MOSES AND I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING THE DOG PARK FOR YEARS HOWEVER IT IS TERRIBLY OVERGROWN, TREES NEED TRIMMING BUSH,GRASS CUT AND CONSEQUENTLY THE PARK IS LOADED WITH MOSQUITOS,TICKSAND BITING ANTS. WE NEED A MAJOR CLEAN UP TO ENJOY OUR WONDERFUL PAW PARK AGAIN
- JanineMore than a year agoWe are there almost everyday!
I've bee bringing my 16 month old doberman to this park for over a year, more recently almost daily. It is a large park with a high secure fence, plenty of water stations as well. There are large live oak trees for shade (and squirel chasing) and open areas for frisbee and ball throws. Even during our busy winter season there is plenty of room to spread out. The county maintains this well. Directions: Once you cross Jacaranda take the first right into the parking lot of the Rec Center, then keep heading to the right, follow the short path to entrance of dog park.

Tried to visit this park today and found no dogs allowed in the park (there is a Woodmere Park at this location).
