- ScottyMore than a year agoGreat park but not for newbs!!!
cannon park is a beautiful place for four leggers and two leggers to make friends. it was once a museum that burned down, hence the columns, but is now an off leash park. however it is surrounded by streets, one of which is calhoun, one of the busiest in charleston. if your dog does not come when she is called (take into consideration manners while in the company of other dogs) DO NOT BRING THEM HERE! I've seen too many close calls and a missing lab to not want to voice this! but if your dog will listen and not bolt after bikes and whatnot great park, great people, great dogs. about an acre i guess, with water fountains and lots of shade on one side. as the site says, lots of regulars (like me!) oh, but watch out for a doberman named Jr.
