- EmilyApr 4, 2020Nice Scenery!
The trails were pretty far away from the parking and hard to find without the trail heads labeled. Once we found the trails we were looking for, it was a beautiful walk! Some tougher terrain at points but my pup loved it

Loved this park. Will go often

I love this park because the scenery is amazing from any point in the park, it's 15 minutes from civilization (gas stations, supermarkets, stores, Bus stop, etc.), and the trails vary in length and terrain. So you can do a quick out and back trail or spend the day hiking the entire park. The terrain varies from mild to difficult or you can walk the road that goes through the park, for an easier workout.
The park goers are very dog friendly and at any time during the year you will find runners, hikers, or fishers, with their 4 legged companion in the park. During the summer, people like to wade in the water with their dogs and feed the geese, or have a nice lunch picnic in the grass overlooking the water and tiny island of trees in the middle.
The park rangers are nice and make regular rounds throughout the park. There is an abundance of wildlife in the park (swans, geese, deer, birds, and especially the woodpeckers). Overall, this park is relaxing and beautiful.
This park does not have a dog park (fenced-in area for dog to run off leash). Your doggo must be leashed while in the park and on the trails.
