Great place to view the Pacific Ocean from above and away from crowds at the beach. Caution with pups around the edges of the cliff. No bathroom, plan accordingly. 🐶🐾
- KierstenAug 7, 2021Nice local spot
A few minutes off 101, great little locals’ spot for pups. Quiet in early AM on a Saturday, only saw about 10 people & 20 dogs or so. Our pups loved the sniffs & people/pups were nice. Poop bags available at neighborhood entrance. Steep & unfenced edge of cliff so careful if it’s your first time & you have a wild child. :)

a beautiful view, giant meadows and large tree trunks for your fur baby to jump over. just can’t say enough good things about this place. it’s a must go!!!!

We went there today and loved it. my Shepard and small Terrier mix had lots of opportunities to interact with other pups big and small, nice easy trails to wander about, beautiful views.

This place is a must have for all pups and when visiting Santa Barbara! They say to remain leashed up to certain points but the locals were letting them off as soon as they were through the gates. We walked a little over 1 mile with the dogs off leash the entire time. everyone there pups or no pups were so respectful of each other and their pups. our two have not really been around that many dogs in a while and it was awesome to see the interaction and positive pup play time. plenty of room for pups that are a little nervous and ones that want to play with everyone.

this is such an amazing spot. it’s off leash which is excellent if you feel safe. I didn’t so I kept my baby on leash. Lots of space to roam and the views are beautiful. Bring your pup here - you both will love it!

We found this spot by accident traveling up the coast. It's a great spot to let your pup run free. You have to decide whether the risk (the proximity of the cliffs) is worth it.

Absolutely beautiful views! Area is well maintained and has a spot with a water fountain for the dogs. Quite a few dogs there and all are friendly. Most walk without leashes, I kept mine on a leash because of the steep cliffs.

As a travel nurse, I move all the time and am constantly trying to find places to wear my dogs out. This preserve is gorgeous and well maintained. I kept my dogs leashed, not because they don't get along with others but because my male is strong willed and doesn't come back unless he wants to. The off leash dogs were well behaved. We'd is not go down to the beach on this trip, but will back to do so.
- Finn's humanMore than a year agoGreat, social spot for pups
My leashed dog loved all the dog interaction on this trail, and I enjoyed the views. All of the dogs and humans were friendly, and I would definitely bring Finn here again next time we visit.

I have come to this park for many years with my dog... I always keep my dogs leashed- even tho it is off leash area. I keep my dog close to me for their safety
- AllisonMore than a year agoBad idea...
It has a beautiful view but it is not worth the risk. There is no fencing around the edge of the bluff and 2-3 DOGS DIE EVERY YEAR FROM FALLING OVER THE EDGE!!!! There are also many more that get stuck on the ledges. We just watched 2 labs fall to their deaths the other day
- SharonMore than a year agoOff-Leash with a view
Wonderful park, lots of other dogs come here, You don't have to be a dog owner to enjoy the views of the bluffs overlooking the ocean, on a clear day you can see out to the channel island. There is one doggie watering station here. Two ways down to the beach, the front side. Down a moderately steep hill. Or at the end of Mesa Lane, there is a VERY long stair case. Public Restrooms available by the Boathouse restaurant just off the beach.
