Needed a place to walk the dogs during a trip, found this trail on bring Fido. it’s a nice trail. Worked out great for an early morning walk, but not much shade if you are on it at the hot times of day.

This is a nice trail for travelling long distances. Being a rails-to-trail conversion, there are no steep inclines, and not a lot of street crossings (none on the portion we walked). Plus, it's free. But, there's also almost zero shade, and not much for scenery. Walking north from Baptist Rd, we were in between I-25 and some neighborhoods. There are certainly prettier places to hike in Colorado Springs.

Per the sign at the trail head. Still it is lovely. Please bag and remove dog poop.

The walk from Monument to Palmer Lake is quite beautiful, fairly level walking, ends at a park in Palmer Lake, if you cross hwy 105 there is great ice cream at The Rock House and water for your dog
