Reviews
Visitors generally find the West Orange Dog Park to be a well-maintained and shaded area for their dogs to play. They appreciate the separate play areas for small and large dogs, as well as the amenities like water stations and agility equipment. However, some visitors have encountered issues with aggressive dogs or the mulch surface, which can attract mosquitoes.

We haven't been here in several months, partly because our GSD Dexter passed and partly because of COVID-19. However, we love this park. It's very shaded, there are separate play areas based on dog size, and lots of places for owners to sit and cool off while the dogs run and have their fun! We will be taking our rescue and puppy GSD here again soon!

I love this dog park as my dog always has fun. The only thing irritating about it is that owners bring their small dogs into the large dog side of the park then when their little dog freaks out, the owner glares at you like it’s your fault their little dog is scared. I have to hold my dog who did nothing wrong back while they go back to the small dog side. If you’re going to bring your small dogs into the largo dog side, please don’t ruin the fun for the larger dogs as this is their space to play too.
- SamJul 7, 2019Best in the area
Most of the other dog parks in Orlando are fine, but have barely any shade and few amenities. This park is in a very secluded location with lots of tree cover, ample seating, and awesome touches like agility equipment and water fountains/hoses. Really appreciate being able to keep large and small dogs separated. Everyone we met was really nice!
- AndrewJul 7, 2019Best local dog park we've found so far
We've taken our Greyhound to the park in Conway and the one in Dr. Phillips, and this one is definitely our favorite. The others are pretty good parks as well, but this one takes the cake because it has WAY more shade than the other parks. The only downside is there's mulch instead of grass, but our dog doesn't seem to mind. There's plenty of room, boxes full of community toys, kiddy pools for the dogs to cool off in, and a lot more stuff as well. It's very clean and well maintained. We went on a somewhat busy weekend, and our boy loved it.
Don't just drive by it and try to base your opinion on that.... seriously, actually go in. You'll love it! And don't go to the park that's near it that the other reviewer recommends...it isn't fenced in, and isn't really a dog park.

Nice large park. Always has toys for dogs to play with. Very clean. Usually more people go in the morning until noon or after 4:30pm. It does not have a lake as the photo shows. But it has little plastic pools so the dogs can cool down. Really like this one. Also, I go there everyday for like an year now, never had fleas or ticks issue.

Never been but pass this place almost every single day. Place looks awful, I never see anybody there, except for highschoolers when they try to get home. There is one park near this one, going towards the YMCA and the neighborhood near the highway bridge. Instead of turning to go under the bridge or the highschool, go straight. Super green and has lots of shade/trees there!!!
- DawnJul 5, 2018we love this park
This park is wonderful. Tons of trees keep is cool so both dog and human can enjoy on the hot days. There is a child pool, and our group loves to use it. We have informal corgi meet ups at least once a month. Majority of the time, folks follow the rules on what size dog can go where. You do a have a few exception,, like all parks. The large dog park, is very large so plenty of room to play. Parking is perfect and the park is well maintained.

Very clean and well kept dog park. There are two fenced in areas, one for small and one for large dogs. They have a large clear path for running, a side walk, balls, frisbees, tug toys, kiddie pool with hose, and a little tunnel for the dogs. Plenty of shaded areas along with benches and picnic tables. There is only mulch (which I prefer personally).

I visited here for my first time today. It was a well kept park, clean, and my 2 girls were clean when they left. There's multiple tables with chairs, plenty of shade, a water fountain with bowls, and a dog bath that none of the small dogs were interested in. I could see the big dogs on the other side of the fence having a great time in their bath though. The people I encountered there in the small dog enclosure were pleasant. There were several big dogs and little dogs at the park so your doggies will have company. I could see there was a small puppy around 17 lb in the big dog enclosure that shouldn't have been over there getting trampled on the way it was. The park has ample parking. Only drawback is there's no bathroom facilities. Make sure everyone goes before you get there!
- SusanMore than a year agoAggressive dogs
We visited this park for the second time and for the second time our dog was attacked at the gate by aggressive dogs. Most were well behaved, but some owners here don't seem to care if their dog is acting aggressively (not just barking and certainly not in play, but literally attacking, knocking other dogs to the ground while barking and snarling at them). It's a real shame, since the park is decent and many owners are considerate. But twice now we've left, and have talked with other owners who have also left, due to the aggressive behavior. We'll try again in the cooler months and come during the day when, hopefully most people will be working. What a shame. It could be a nice place, but who wants to risk their dog's safety because some owners ignore the rule requiring them to remove their dog if it becomes aggressive.

took my australian shepherd here. he had a great time at the park playing until he got fleas........
- SamanthaMore than a year agoWell Maintained!
My 8 month pit has been coming here since he was 10 weeks old. He knows most of the regulars and looks forward to the newbies. The park is alway well stocked with bag and empty trash cans. Lots of activities including a tunnel and jump. Mulch ground makes dust storms unavoidable however, it is re-mulched on a regular basis. Only complaint -- bugs get bad at dusk

Nice park and close to home. I only wished instead of wood chips, there was grass for my dogs to run on.
- MichelleMore than a year agoGreat most of the time
I love this park as it's close enough to take my dog before or after work. They have watering stations, benches and covered picnic tables. I've been taking my 7-month old pup there for 2 months now and she LOVES it and every dog in there. Most dogs and people are regulars but every once in a while someone comes in with an aggressive dog that makes everyone else leave. Or a mom thinks it's a good idea to let her 2-yr old kid run through the middle of the park screaming. I think the "rules" sign needs to be posted a bit more prominantly along with a "bring you child at your own risk" warning as well as a hotline for repeated offenders who bring aggressive dogs and think it's ok. It would also be nice to have a "hose off" station near the parking lot as well as a few shallow pools in the park for dogs that like water. Over all, convenielty located and most people and dogs are really nice.
- DianeMore than a year agofun fun fun
The large dog park is really not very large BUT, saying that, when the dogs arrive, how much fun! The same dogs tend to come yet there are new guys who join in too ... and they run and chase and pile up. The people walk around and talk about .. wha else? their dogs! My old guy is left alone to wander on his own. The young gal can't wait for her "regular" friends ... watching all the dogs at the gate to greet the new comers is fantastic.
Plenty of bags available and trash cans for disposal. The only thing I don't like is the mulch surface -- tends to generate mosquitos more than a nice grassy area - which, of course, would be dust in no time with all the activity.
