We started at Beacon Hieghts and the first 5 miles are pretty hard. A lot of rocks, large steps, and a steep climb. If your dog is not use to this might want to skip it. After that everything was what you would expect of a mountain hike. We went end of May and it was very cloudy so we could not see anything around us. It is not the most beautiful trail around but was still nice. The road was right beside us the whole time, which might be nice if you can't make the whole 13 miles. A lot of small water falls, which was nice. Their was a lot of rain before and during our stay. I bought enough water for the dog just in case but I did not need to. At the end of the trail no real water, had to give him some. The best part to me was walking though the cow feild. Which was why the dog needed water we was in full sun. I would recommend this trail if you want to push yourself. We did the whole 13 miles in 7 hours.
