Drive to the end of the road and park by the airport. Don't enter the beach there; there will be other people there and you will be expected to keep your dog on-leash. Rather, walk a mile or so along the service road running along the airport fence, then head to the beach. You will be alone and your dog can frolic off-leash.

Our dog loved fetching sticks in the water here! Very nice warm, soft sandy beach. A wonderful spot to take your dog to in Duluth. It felt like a taste of the tropics in the North!

I go to Duluth minimum twice a week in the summer. My Dog Kola (in lakota means: very, very, looked a pond friend) I could not tell her were we were going or else she would get so excited all the way there. As soon as we would take a turn on a road about three miles away she knew where we were going and was so excited all the way. She loved it and me too
- MarianneMore than a year agoour city dog loved the sand
The posted signs say dogs on leash only. We were the only ones on the beach though, so I don't think anyone would have minded.
