    Amazing Experience with My Dogs

They are super dog-friendly and I brought two, including a Great Dane. We all had such a great time. My dogs got to run off-leash on the island (no one else was their when we arrived) and I got to hunt for sharks teeth, shells, and sand dollars. Our captain was fun, informative, and proritized safety. There was another dog on the tour as well, so be sure your dogs are friendly, it is a tight space on the boat, and please clean up after your dogs. I'd hate for them to have to stop taking dogs on the tour because of irresponsible owners.

    Never disappoints

This was the second time I took a boat tour with Adventure Harbor Tours. We had a wonderful time. Captain Howie and First Mate Sue were so great with my dog. I cannot day enough good things about this business. I will absolutely be taking more tours with them in the future.

    Nicest people ever!

Just a lovely way to spend an evening. Everybody was so nice to me and my dog. I’m definitely going to take another tour with them this year!

    Awesome group of people

I exchanged a few emails with the owner prior to our cruise. Including an exchange about our dog not eating the motor or small children, although he confessed at times the eating of small children might be needed but it is up to the descression of the captain.
I was also told I could tip the captain in beer.
They shared some history on Charleston, have is a very nice cruise, and allowed us to bring our cooler with adult beverages.
Only complain, the address that provide is not where you get on their boat, it is actually the access nearest the California Dreaming restaurant.

We took our two pups on the Mild sunset cruise and we all loved it!! The staff was so friendly to the pups and gave them treats!! The tour was fun and there was lots of interesting information as well as a relaxing time where you can bring your own booze!!

    Perfect Tour

I took this tour based upon other reviews on Bringfido.com and I totally agree with the 5 bone reviews! Myself and my senior dog, who has difficulty with steps, were accomodated by the very friendly and knowledgeable owner and Captain Ray. Captain Ray even lifted my dog onto and off of the boat. The tour was very informative and Morris Island is a beach-lovers dream. I can't recommend the "Storming Morris Islant" tour enough! I will definitely be going back next time I am in Charleston.

    A Great Tour for All!

We booked this trip because of the excellent reviews, and were not disappointed. Captain Howie and his crew were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Due to weather issues, our trip had to be rescheduled from Tuesday to Thursday, and Captain Howie called us himself very promptly to let us know, and called us back right away to give us our choice of dates and times to reschedule before we had to leave to go home. The trip itself was great fun for us, our kids ages 8 & 9, and our dog. They were as kind and friendly to the dog as to all the people aboard. It was a great place to enjoy nature and walk while finding loads of shells and shark teeth, and get a lot of history about the island and nearby Forts Sumter and Moultrie. Captain and crew stayed with us the whole time we walked the beach, and gave lots of helpful information on the types of shells and wildlife we found along the way. Excellent trip!

Most Excellent adventure for dogs and humans!!!

Our two dogs (medium-large well behaved mixed breeds) and we were lucky enough to take Captain Howard's boat trip and tour of Morris Island during a visit to Charleston on July 14, 2012. It was absolutely awesome -- we had a great time, as did everyone on our tour. Captain Howard and (soon to be co-captain) Joey who led our trip are warm, friendly, funny, super-accommodating ( of dog, kids, and all who are on the trip!) and both are area natives with an interest and extensive knowledge of the history of the area -- and the area is rich in history! On our way out to Morris Island, we cruised by Fort Sumter and Captain Howard filled us in on its history. We also got a close-up view of one of a pair of Osprey who nest every year on a light near Fort Sumter. We really enjoyed the boat trip out to Morris Island, then getting to Morris Island -- WOW! It is stunningly beautiful, undeveloped, a super cool and beautiful place to beach walk, treasure hunt (fossilized shark's teeth, shells, and ask about blueberry bricks!), dolphin watch (many were swimming along the shore!) and enjoy the view and relax. We thought on this trip we would be taken out to the island and dropped off for a visit -- but it is much more than that! Captain Howard gave us a history and overview when we got to the island and Joey gave us all a most excellent guided tour with his extensive knowledge of the flora, fauna and rich history of the island and area. It was truly awesome! Captain Howard and Joey were wonderful with our dogs and the kids (4 along on our trip, from about 4 to 8 years old, who were fascinated by the beach treasures and having a great time the entire time) as well as the adults on our trip. They are really excellent at making sure everyone is having a good time, and will talk with you as much as you like or leave you to yourself if that's your preference. On our boat ride back, we saw some dolphins swimming, and Captain Howard stopped, then gently followed them for a bit so we could dolphin watch - magical! The whole trip was wonderful-- we will definitely do it again if ever back in Charleston, and highly recommend it to Charlestonians and visitors -- it is way cool, magical, way worth it!!!
If you have dogs that would enjoy a long beach walk (off leash if they'll stick with you), this is the beach and trip for you!
If you have kids (I think any age would enjoy) that would enjoy a beach walk, finding way cool fossilized shark's teeth and shells, and probably dolphin-watching, this is a trip you'll really enjoy!
If you're from the area and haven't been to Morris Island -- GO, it's awesome!
If your'e visiting Charleston and love the water and beach -- don't miss this -- it will be the highlight of your trip!
We can't recommend it highly enough -- this is an awesome trip, and Adventure Harbor Tours does it right!!! :) I would give more than five bones if I could!!!

    A Great Day!

First of all, an important point as that I was on my own with two medium-sized and very well behaved, well-traveled dogs. But, nonetheless, this was their first time on a boat. I was so touched by how Captain Howard and his assistant welcomed me and my dogs on the boat. I sat right next to Captain Howard in the driver's seat so the dogs would have plenty of room in the back of the boat and not get too bumped around by the waves or be in the way of other people. My dogs quickly relaxed and had the time of their lives on this open boat gliding through the water! We were taken to this awesome wild beach island off the inlet to Charleston where you can find all kinds of interesting things washed up on the shore from dollar shells to sharks' teeth to glass dating back 200 years. Dogs can run free there and it's just wonderful for them. As Captain Howard said, it's Disney World for dogs. On the way back, we saw many dolphins. Although water was provided, make sure you pack extra fresh water for your dog as it's a good 2.5 hour excursion, much of which is on the beach with no access to fresh water. My dogs and I will definitely go again.

Great adventure for you and your puppy!

We had a great time doing this tour. Captain Howie was great, and funny, and told us all about the history of Charleston harbor, with its forts and islands, and battles and pirates. Maggie was welcome on the boat, and boy, did she have a good time! The best part for her, though, was walking on Morris Island, which we had to ourselves! Maggie could walk along the shore, venture a bit in the water (which was really cold) and even chase a bird! We really had a good time, and bringing Maggie along with us made this tour this much more special!
