BEst trails you’re going to find within 30 minutes of Detroit and it connects to the paint creek trail you can take in to downtown Rochester for lunch or ice cream and to visit the dog bakery. It’s not a short hike but it’s a fulfilling one! Trails are shared with mtn bikers so step aside and pay attention. My favorite entrance is at the pavilion with the staircase. It has the most varying elevations s hills and follows the river at parts. It gets pretty muddy down there after a good rain/thaw so you can always take the trails at the back of the parking lot which are flatter and up higher

We are a little biased because this is in our back yard. This is a great park with miles of trails to explore; some weave their way along the Clinton River and others are just shady trails through pine filled woods and awesome fall colors. For those who like a challenge, and what pup doesn't?, there are hills and stairs to climb as well as easy trails if your pup has reached its golden years. Especially in the evening, you may run across deer, bunnies or other forest critters. Pets should be leashed but owners can usually find an open field or unpopulated trail to toss a Frisbee. Trails are shared with bikers, but most folks and critters are well mannered and easy going. I've raised four wonderful dogs who have spent many happy hours in Bloomer. It's a great place to share time together.
