We went to Asheville on a whim one weekend. This was a great way to see the city and help us expand our plans. Great deal for your money. Puppy loved looking out the window and watching the sights go by—and he also loved the attention he received. He is usually afraid of big vehicles but didn’t even hesitate to hop on the trolley lolol. I would recommend this to anyone as a great weekend activity because the tickets cover two days. Use the first day to take the tour and the second day to go back to sites you found really intriguing. Trolley stops every 30-ish minutes. Costs: $40/for a 2 day ticket that also gives you some discounts to certain museums. Park for free at the Asheville Visitor Center and use the trolley as a chauffeur of sorts all around town. Dog policies: small dogs only, must be in your lap and accompanied by an adult. Must be well behaved. Bring your own water bowls. People: Ebbs and flows as far as the crowd and we went at the beginning of their season. All of the guests were happy to see a puppy and had no grumbles about a dog being on the trip. The employees were nice to pup as well. I would definitely recommend if you have a small dog (under 25lbs) and want to see Asheville

We were in Asheville for a day trip.
We decided to take the trolley tour and let me tell you, what a wealth of information. Also our dog was welcome with no fee.
He is a ~25lb pug. He said beside me on the bench seating by the open air windows and loved every minute of it. They also said some tour guides will point out dog friendly restaurants and activities but ours did not. Still a wonderful tour of the city. We would be happy to go again. - AlexisOct 27, 2019Fun for small dogs
Had a great time on the ghost tour. Local history and fun stories. Dogs under 20lbs welcome free, ours slept on our lap the whole time. Great guides, would definitely recommend and great way to spend a rainy night

We took our chihuahua on the ghost tour and we had a great time. No issues whatsoever with having our small dog with us, but definitely only bring a true lapdog because space is a bit tight..

We took the evening night tour and our pup loved it, fresh air and a lot to look at. The guide was friendly and the haunted history scary. It was a win win for all.

We took our 2 small dogs (20 pounds each) and had a great time. They can look over the side and all the people on the streets loved it. Recommend sitting in the back.

I just emailed the trolley company (9/4/14) to confirm if dogs are allowed since there is conflicting information here. I was told that only small, well behaved dogs that fit in your lap are allowed. This is a disappointment as my dog is very well behaved and has even earned his CGC, but since he is medium sized (45lbs) he can't go. Please reconsider the policy. Thanks!

We took our two small (10 & 25 lb) dogs on the trolley for the day. The seat backs are hard and the benches are short, so two adults with two dogs on laps were fairly squished and less than comfortable.
However, after half the ride like this, we sat in two benches and let the dogs ride next to us. this was much more enjoyable and was not forbidden by our guide, who was in fact quite friendly and energetic.
We all enjoyed the fresh air, the humans enjoyed the history lessons, the dogs enjoyed the adoration of our fellow riders. - Steve & KarenMore than a year agoAsheville Trolley Tour
Took our 2 dogs Mocha (Lhasa-Poo) & Latte (Malti-Poo) on the trolley tour they loved it as did we.
