Dogs are not permitted on the federally protected wetlands west of Tallac Point (where the Lake of the Sky trail concludes).This is for the protection of wildlife in this fragile ecosystem. Located on National Forest land, the area begins at the Camp Richardson fence and extends along the shoreline adjacent to the Tallac Historic Site. Regan Beach

South Lake Tahoe, CA

Regan Beach A dog-friendly portion of the shoreline is available at Regan Beach in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Dogs are permitted off leash only in the dog water park section of the beach near the entrance to the park. Regan Beach is open to the public April 1st through April 30 from 7am to 4pm, and May 1st until the end of September from 6:30am to 9:30pm (weather permitting).
