Santa Rosa CA, dog friendly swim areas.

We're visiting Santa Rosa in the middle of June with our 14 year old golden retriever and 7 year old mix breed sweetie. We're very concerned about the heat and keeping the 14 year old cool. I saw at Rincon Valley (which is where we'll be staying) dog park there is suppose to be a pond or something? But, I'm not sure it will be filled and available for him to cool off in.

Does anyone have any suggestions for us?
