We had a great stay at the Beech Tree Inn. They are dog friendly and were very nice to our dog. We were the only guests with a dog, but the other guests seemed to be happy to see her. The inn's location is about a mile from town center, so we were able to walk most places with our dog. Lots of restaurants nearby allow dogs in their outdoor spaces. Our room was comfortable and immaculate. Modernized plumbing...no problem with hot water as is often the case in older b&bs.
I believe Tiffany was the chef and her breakfasts are awesome. We had French Toast and Eggs Benedict. The french toast is probably the best I've had. The first morning, we were able to eat on the patio with our dog. The next, it was raining, so they brought breakfast to our room and we were able to eat there. They also offer brandy and snacks in the living room in the evenings and I did enjoy a nightcap on our last night. Check in was contactless via text and codes to get into your room due to covid.

We loved the Beech Tree Inn! The location was amazing and we were able to walk most places with our dog. We were particularly impressed with the COVID safety precautions in place and were able to pick up our breakfast each morning to enjoy in our room. We also enjoyed eating takeout on the beautiful patio out back. This was our dog’s first time staying in a B&B and he loved it! Highly recommend and hope to be back again some day!

The doggie bag that was in the room for us to use was a great idea and came in handy. The nice blue bag contained Doggie Biscuits, towel, sheet, and poop bag which could be carried around town also. For us the location was great we could walk to the cliff walk and beach or walk to the harbor area.

This is a very comfortable place to stay. Our room was great with a balcony, fireplace and jacuzzi tub. A very nice breakfast is included and we were able to have it delivered to our room and enjoy breakfast outside on our balcony. The owners are extremely friendly and responsive, and are very thoughtful about ensuring their guests have an enjoyable stay. They are definitely dog friendly and we were able to leave our dog in our room while we did some sightseeing that didn’t allow for pets. The location is a little outside the main part of town, but it’s only a short walk to the center. I would definitely stay here again with my pup!! Thanks for a great long weekend in Newport!

Found the Beech Tree Inn and Cottage through a Bringfido search. It was just as advertised, very dog friendly and nicely appointed. Super convenient location yet out of the chaos. Breakfast was great, staff super friendly. Loved the "doggy bag" we were given upon check in! ;-)

We have visited Newport and stayed in other inns, but this was by far the best. It has just been purchased by new owners and they are delightful. They go out of their way to please. They welcomed our little dog with a gift bag upon check-in, and couldn't have been more accommodating. The breakfasts are huge and delicious. The inn is very quiet - our room was carpeted and not loud like other old inns can be. The location is wonderful as well. This was the first time we brought along our little pup ad it was a great experience.
