Basic room at a low low price. No fridge or microwave, but that's par for the course with cheap rooms.
What cost them 2 bones was that the heater smelled bad - like 20 years of cigarettes in there. Clearly, they had converted the room to non-smoking but neglected to change the old, smoky heater filter. - PaulSep 13, 2023Clean and has on-site dining

The location is great! It is really beautiful over there! We reserved a pet friendly non-smoking room. The lodge is old, but towels were very clean! Their staff is fantastic! Their food at the cafe is amazing!!!!!! The only problem I had is that the only pet-friendly room they had left was a smoking room….. it had extremely strong smell! We slept with open window, but got just a couple of hours asleep because it was difficult to breathe. The ladies at the front desk recommended to call them directly to make sure they have a non smoking room saved for you. Otherwise, really cool spot!:)

My husband and I stayed with my two large dogs for four days over Thanksgiving week. The room was fine - it was exactly like it was described on line and had a beautiful view of Topaz Lake. The "Pet Area" is a strip of unfenced land that borders the parking lot. I had hoped for a fenced dog area, but we did find a really nice dog park in Gardnerville next to the Walmart to get the dogs out for a daily run. The best part of the stay was the food at the Topaz Café. It was excellent and the service was terrific. The Lodge was just what we were looking for so we could vacation with our 'pack.'

Health & Safety
Safe Stay: Topaz Lodge has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay. Social distancing measures are in place, as well as physical barriers between staff and guests. Hotel staff are required to wear masks.
