  Unexpected

  Great location, but I would have rather spent the night in my car than the $265 we spent for one night. The beds are old and swoop in the center. The walls are thin, making the people upstairs sound like a herd of elephants. The air conditioner made noise, but didn’t cool the room. Really outdated and gave me the creeps.

  Awesome Room

  This place really checked all the boxes and actually had a few pleasant surprises. Room was super clean and updated. The best was extremely comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. There was no carpet... yay! The room was nice and large, which is especially great when traveling with pets. Check-in was smooth and the staff was friendly. To our our surprise, they will deliver a complimentary continental breakfast to your room with a choice of local Danish pastries, yogurt, coffee and juice. The front desk gave us a corkscrew, which we got to keep. There are 2 areas for dogs. The Secret Garden, is really like a little secret garden. A huge grassy area surrounded with fruit trees. It's really lovely. There is a small rocky area on the other side of property, as well. The pet fee was only $25/night, which is great compared to many other properties in the area. Whether we return with our dog or not, we will be back for sure.

  Perfect getaway

  This was such a great spot to visit with our two pups. The room was clean and spacious, as well as the bathroom. The location was unbeatable and within very close walking distance to everything. We had breakfast options delivered to our door every morning, which was such a nice treat. Especially the danishes! The “secret garden” was huge and the perfect spot to let our dogs out to roam and go to the bathroom. There were ample poop bags available on the property and we felt safe. Would recommend and return in the future.

  Very cute inn!

  I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the Royal Copenhagen Inn. It looks like a cute little Danish village. The room was a nice size with 2 queen beds. I had a 1st floor room as requested, making it very easy to bring in the luggage and take the pup out. There is an enclosed dog relief area. The location was walkable to many shops and restaurants. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I wanted to go wine tasting and the hotel clerk gave me a list of wineries and highlighted those that were dog friendly. I also appreciated having a complimentary breakfast delivered to my door. I hope to visit Solvang again and would want to stay here again as well.

  The hotel was in the heart of Solvang with everything within walking distance. Good service all around. They even deliver breakfast to your door. Great staff.

  This inn never disappoints. So convenient and super dog friendly. They were very accommodating swapping an upstairs room for a ground level. Made it so much easier for me to travel solo with my pup. Will definitely be back!

  Great place, very dog friendly

  Got a ground floor room for our guy. We were treated very well by the staff and found the room to be very good though somewhat frugal. They have both grassy play areas for dogs and a gravel "puppy potty." Will definitely go back.

  Cute Hotel!

  Ok, so my stay started with the warmest welcome from Amy at the front desk! She was so nice & got me all set up when I finally arrived about 11pm. A light continental style breakfast is delivered to your door every morning, to start your day off right. The Secret Garden is such a nice little area for your pupper! There’s also a small pool area with games like corn hole. I wish I could’ve stayed longer than 2 nights! I’ll be back for sure.

  Bottom floor at our request. Beautiful enclosed dog’s yard with plenty of seating for owners. Excellent hotel for dogs and people in the center of town.

  Capacious, clean room. Cordial folks at reception. Light breakfast delivered at requested times. (Though to be candid we took ourselves two blocks away to Brekkies for breakfast.) Major high point: large enclosed grassy area (The Secret Garden) for physiology-break walkies, perfect. We will be back.

  No Big Deal

  There was one large backyard area for dogs to do their business. There was a very small area nearby that was filled with poop. Disgusting. Breakfast was a joke. Should have gone out for breakfast.
  Also, they charge $20 each night for your pet.

  Clean and peaceful

  The room was clean and spacious we got a standard room with a king bed and wood floors. Our pups had plenty of space for their beds and bowls. The secret garden area was great our pups were able to use the restroom and play in a large grassy area. Clean up supplies were readily available. The inn was full but it was nice and peaceful. It was a great place for our first mini vacation with our new pup.

  Could have been better

  Staff was friendly and the room was roomy and in good shape. The problem was the room #131 to be exact. It was at the front of the hotel and faced the main street in Solvang. I did not realize how noisy this street was day and night constant buzzing of cars, buses a lot of it was probably traffic to and from the nearby Chumash Casino. During the day constant streams of tourists walking by. The wife, dog and I were exhausted after the second night and so happy to be heading home. Place was booked solid so no chance of switching rooms. Probably would have been ok if it were not for the room.

  Tall people beware!

  The motel was extremely clean, but not meant for taller people. My husband is 6'7" and had to duck beams and sprinkler heads in our room. The shower head only came up to his chest. Otherwise, it was quiet and the Danish for breakfast was yummy!

  A totally okay place to stay

  The rooms are clean and the hotel is in a central location. The beds are very soft. I am not a soft bed guy so that was a big negative for me.

  Right in town, this well maintained motel is a great spot to stay with your dog. It even has a “secret garden” dog park area to let your dog run around a bit. A friendly staff, large parking area, and quiet rooms add to the appeal.

  Great Location

  The Royal Copenhagen Inn is centrally located. Staff is friendly and efficient. Our pet friendly room had faux wood floors (no carpet in pet friendly rooms). Nice grassy pet area back behind the pool area. Reasonably priced and clean. Would definitely recommend.

  Great Location

  Super dog friendly. Hospitality was great. COVID restrictions closed the breakfast area but staff delivered our order directly to the room each morning. Perfect location to explore Solvang, grab dinner, walk the town, walk to the park, etc. No car required. Almost all places were dog friendly and most had water bowls outside in the sidewalk so our dog always had water available on hot days. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Only reason not 5 stars is because the rooms could use a facelift. Dresser drawers don’t shut all the way, towel racks were loose, but did not hamper our enjoyment.

  Luna really liked the comfort & pet friendliness of the Royal Copenhagen. Her people enjoyed the easy access to town & the reasonable rates! We also enjoyed dinner & wine-tasting in nearby Los Olivos.

  Secret garden for doggies!

  Very clean standard motel.
  There is a good sized fenced in yard for dogs with lawn, water and poop bags. A couple doors down is Succulent restaurant, they will except dogs at their outside tables. We had a very good meal there.

  Dog friendly

  The pet allowed rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is a nice garden area for dogs to run a bit and relieve themselves. Also an outdoor area adjacent to the breakfast room so you can sit with your dog while eating. Nice facility
