Interested in visiting Lake Placid and the Olympic Training venues? Meadowbrook Public Campground offers a convenient base, just four miles from teh center of town. First opened for camping in 1933, this historic spot now offers plenty of modern amenities, from flush toilets and hot showers to a trailer dump station, recycling center, picnic area and more. The campground is close to many of the area's attractions, such as the Saranac Inn Fish Hatchery, Whiteface Mountain Memorial Highway, and extensive hiking trails.
