    Very Nice and Private

We have stayed at Signal Inn each year since 2016 and really like it. Each condo is on stilts so climbing stairs is necessary. The rooms are clean, updated and all have a Gulf view. Full kitchen. There is a designated area to walk pets, a pool, a clubhouse, and a wooden walkway to beach. Front desk folks are great.

    Just OK.

The place is now called "Signal Inn Pet-Friendly Island Condos" -- there was no mention of a Racquetball Club when we stayed there. (4 day stay.) The room we stayed in was dingy and nothing special. Because this is Sanibel, no-see-ums were a menace a dusk. There is a small pool in the middle of the property that was pretty crowded most of the time. Unlike the other reviewer, the dishwasher worked in our unit. But the broadband service (an ancient DSL @ 2Mbit down) was a joke,

    Not dog friendly.

First thing is sharp little rocks are everywhere. My dog has big feet and he got cut up pretty bad with theses rocks. He always had one or two stuck in his feet.
There is no grass for your dog at all.
In the after noon sun condo 2, 4 and 6 steps leading up to the front door, get so very hot they blister my dogs paw.
Do not use the walk way to the beach either.
Staff person Pam, does not care at all. Her comment is we have dogs stay here all the time. Thanks for listen Pam.
The condo is not clean. We had sand gnat (also known as sand fly or no see um) flies in between the sheets in our bed. Doing laundry in the middle of the night was not a vacation.
The dishwasher was useless. The dish can out with more food on them then they went in with.
My last thing they ask you to please start a load of towels before you leave, there is no bleach or anything so just image what you are drying off with.
    Please don't stay here.

    Great place!

The first place we ever stayed on Sanibel Island is Signal Inn. Our dogs are family so we can't leave them behind when we go on vacation. We coudln't imagine staying anywhere else. Everyone is so friendly and there's plenty of space for dogs! They just love getting to go on the beach and relax with us in the room after a long day of playing! I would definitely recommend staying here!
