  Some staff not so great

  I loved the room and how dog friendly it really was! However, my reservation was booked using this site and apparently that was a problem with one staff member at the front desk. I had a room move due to overbooking. Not a problem however the room move was between three hours so I went to get lunch and left my dogs in the room for maybe 20 minutes max and they turned off my room key! Luckily a very nice maid let me in but when I kept trying to see when I was moving (one of the cleaning staff kept circling the room I was in even though I was told I could wait in the room) they kept telling me the room wasn’t ready.

  It took near the whole three hours in the middle of the day to clean my new room. I was told that they would move my things if I needed to leave but my dogs things and them being in the room would be a problem since I have a very protective and large boy. I was met with condescending staff at the front desk that kept mentioning that I booked through a third party so it wasn’t their fault I had to move rooms. I was also charged more than what I was supposed to be charged due to them charging my card separately for the room move and taxes. I would stay here again due to the rooms being nice, most of the staff being kind, and them accepting large dogs though.

  Awesome stay

  Awesome hotel. Staff is very friendly and they give you a dog bag treat when you check in! The room we stayed had a little kitchenette with all you need if you feel like cooking. The location is great and close to the beach. There’s an elevator if your dog can’t do stairs like our old lady. We loved staying here and will definitely come back.

  Awesome Everything

  Highly recommended. Easy check-in, great staff, beautiful big room with everything we needed. Brought our big boy and little fatso. We will definitely come back.

  Great stay

  The Barefoot Mailman Motel GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Judy and Shameke work tirelessly to keep your room welcoming, clean, and comfortable. They always ask, "How's everything?...Can I get you anything?" and "Please let me know if you need anything." From greeting guests to addressing any concerns, Binnie, Ty, & Mira navigate the duties at the Front Desk with class, charm, and patience. Stephanie, the General Manager leads by example and does whatever is necessary so that you enjoy your stay. I have observed her assume the role of housekeeper, front desk, and any role that is necessary to keep things going smoothly! I look forward to coming back in my travels!

  Very dog friendly

  Nice motel the room was large and clean with comfortable beds. They had treat bags for the dogs upon arrival.

  Dog friendly

  Everything was great. Hotel etc. We did have to leave early due to a personal emergency. No refund or rescheduling, which was unfortunate. My only complaint would be against dog owners who didn’t pick up their dogs poop. Gives good dog owners a bad name.

  Great location

  We had a wonderful mini vacation made even more special because we were able to bring our dogs! Will definitely choose to stay at The Barefoot Mailman again soon!

  Pretty lively place

  The check-in sets the tone. You are told there is no smoking, cigarettes OR marijuana, and if you get evicted you won’t get your money back. LOL! There is a mob of kids at the pool having the time of their lives and it’s just generally a very fun and lively place. Our room was huge and very clean but when we climbed into bed at night we realized we had booked a room at a kennel that allows hoomans. Add the barking to the couple next-door who were having indescribable ecstasy and the whole scene got pretty funny. Very comfortable though, and we would stay here again.

  Very nice for such a reasonable price

  Rooms are very clean. Staff is great. We have been here several times and keep coming back. Plenty to do. Dog-friendly beach bar within walking distance. We took our dog to Northside park every day. Absolutely amazing area. Many restaurants are now pet friendly probably from Covid, so they have plenty of outdoor seating. The places we went were very accommodating to our dog. Food was good, too. A little pricey, but that’s what we expected. We were there the first week in June and the weather was perfect.

  Nice hotel

  Surprisingly a very nice place that is close to the beach and dog friendly. Staff also very helpful. My only issue was the WiFi was slow at the hotel but it was free.

  Better then expected

  Nice hotel, great location and friendly, helpful staff.
