During your stay at the Jackson House, relax in the garden by the waterfall, soak in the hot tub, stroll through the terraced gardens to the top of the hill for a view of the valley, or enjoy rocking on the front porch as the travelers pass by on the Heritage Rail Trail. Our beautiful parlor is a perfect setting to meet with other guests, converse with friends, read a book, or admire the antique furnishings-- including a register from 1911 for the original Jackson House Hotel. The restored wood floors, stone walls, and 24in windowsills create the feeling of stepping back in time and enjoying the quality of life in the past. The current Jackson House Bed and Breakfast was built originally as a thirteen-room hotel in 1859 during a time when Railroad, Pennsylvania was quite a thriving, industrial town. During the early 1900's the Jackson House Hotel was known as one of the finest along Northern Central Railroad. The steam heat and hot and cold running water were rare luxuries that most establishments could not afford during that time. The stone cistern that stored the hotel's water supply still remains intact today. The Jackson House is listed in the National Historic Registry.
