    Very pet friendly

We brought our Shih Tzu here and they welcome dogs of all sizes!

This place was terrible. Old, run down, bugs, uncomfortable beds, nothing worked. I would never stay here again.

    Run down place

The mattress were awful. Facility needs updating. You could see daylight around the door. Water bugs came in. Pool needs major renovation. The pool floor was very rough and the pool was closed more than it was open. People next door were very noisy and I reported it to the desk and they did nothing so the noise and chaos continued the whole 3 days. Resort fees were added. All of that was taxed making my bill higher.

    Good retreat for pups!

I enjoyed our stay although it was a short one. I enjoyed all of the amenities, but wish my pups could have done more than the small area that was designated for them. Overall, great location on the beach. Thank you for letting us stay.

    5 star experience

Yes, this hotel needs updates, BUT it’s right on the beach, allows large dogs, and is a clean place. It isn’t an updated hotel, but our doggo had a blast hanging out on our balcony with us overlooking the ocean for a bargain price. We would absolutely stay here again!

    Not Worth It

Hotel needs to be updated badly. Room was underwhelming, tub didn’t drain, our granddaughter didn’t want to even get in the tub to shower. mini fridge worked but didn’t cool bottled water. Beds were ok, mattress was beyond hard. No place to hang your clothes. Best part was the balcony. Boardwalk is poorly lit, no lights at the steps going down to the beach. I took a very hard fall because I missed the last step. We will not be back.

    Affordable on the beach

I worried about leaving my dogs alone in the room due to the lack of any type of door hanger or door marker to indicate that there were dogs inside when I wanted to grab something to eat or walk down to the beach.

The location is great, with 2 restaurants on site (good drinks) and an easy beach stroll to Pineapple Willy's. The boardwalk is very nice. There are multiple dog walk areas with bags provided.

Check-in time is 6 PM and checkout is 10 AM which is late and early compared to other places I've stayed.

    Underwhelming stay

Check-in process was super easy, although they didn’t check my dogs vaccines to make sure he was clear to be around others which to me was super weird. You just have to fill out a paper with the dog’s name and breed and pay your pet fee. The room we got was not clean. It wasn’t a deal breaker for us only because we just went to the store and bought towels, wipes, some cleaning supplies and dealt with it. (I know it would be a deal breaker for some if not most so I needed to mention it).

The floors you could see were decent (except in the bathroom, they were visibly dirty) but there was some kind of something under one of our beds so we made sure to watch our dog to make sure he didn’t go under there and mess with it. Dogs can’t go anywhere on the property except the “designated” dog walking area along one side of the property which for the most part was decent with few “problem” areas left from other guests. The hotel did provide some dog friendly places and excursions but the list was pretty underwhelming so unfortunately our dog stayed in the room while we had to go back and forth checking on him. I get it’s not the hotels fault, it just stinks to have to leave him majority of the time. Overall, we would probably stay elsewhere.

    Not worth the money

Not handicap accessible. Filthy grout and caulk; was like a 6 year old did it.

    We had fun

Everyone was accepting that we had a dog. Great location. The ONLY thing that was aggravating is people would get non smoking rooms and step outside and smoke beside our AC unit which drew in the smoke.

    Not very dog friendly

The only place dogs are allowed is the end of the parking lot with a strip of grass about 2 foot wide by 20-30 ft long. Very misleading.

This Place Needs to be Shut Down

Check-in is at 6 PM. The walkways aren't lit well enough to see where to step. Once arrived at room, open door, cannot find a light switch. There is no light switch near entry. The guest has to walk across room in the dark and find his/her way to a switch at either the lamps between the bed or at the far end at the bathroom sink. Again, all while being in the dark. There are cracks in the walls, rust cover door hinges, dust on top of smoke alarm, rust on rack in bathroom/sink area with extra pillow laying in the rust. Stains on floor under sink where water has leaked. Leaking from ceiling above toilet with a constant drip. Guest cannot use toilet without being dripped on. Being the drip is directly above toilet, this leak could possibly be from sewage from bathroom on floor above. The beds are slightly better than a cardboard box. There are no blankets. Only paper thin sheets. I had to take the sheet off the spare bed just for the dog to be comfortable with burrowing as it's the only way she'll sleep. It's pretty bad when the dog isn't happy.

If I could upload photos here, I certainly would. I went to the front desk clerk to explain the conditions. She said no one cares and would not speak with me at this time of the night. They want guests to check in at 6 PM, but no one is available to assist. Very poor customer service. To the point I told the clerk I'd seriously consider giving this to an attorney to handle. This is how bad it is. And, I'm not very picky. All I need is a comfortable bed and a decent room for the money being paid. By far, this is the worst I've ever seen. The outside has been made to look as if this place is luxury and very nice, but it should be shut down. Guests don't deserve to be mislead by their outdoor pleasantries only to lead them to a room of disgust. Every person who's stayed at this hotel deserve a full refund, no matter if they've complained or not.

    Location is AMAZING

Run down and dirty...limited staff. The room was horrible and the toilet didn't work. However, for as cheap as it was we knew it wasn't going to be the Plaza. And I could hear the ocean with our door closed, see the ocean and beach from my room...and nobody cared if our four legged pal was with us on the beach. The most beautiful beach, Caribbean-esque. If you want a safe place to chill where you can walk out of your room and be right onto the beach, this is it. Down the road towards Destin is a dog beach that was fabulous!

    Stay Away

This place needs negative dog bones as a review. Our room smelled like stale cigarettes, you literally had to kick our back door open as it was jammed on the frame. Roaches. Every. Where. BED BUGS. When we notified the staff of the bugs their response was “Yes ma’am, we know." When we walked in there was hair all over the bathroom floor and shower curtain. The beds are literal box springs. The dog area is covered in poop as there is no reinforcement for picking up after your animal. All around the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had staying in a hotel, and I’ve stayed in some shitty places. We rented the room for 2 nights, we left after the first night.

    Go Somewhere Else

The hotel room was clean but in terrible disrepair. There was no place to really walk your dog. People were smoking, spitting, in common spaces. It was quite disgusting.

    Nasty

Room was filthy. First thing I saw was a huge roach I had to kill. Bathroom is way too small with child size toilet. Internet won’t work. TV remote is broken. AC is so loud you can’t sleep or hear the ocean waves. Very dissatisfied and upset about the amount we paid for this.

    Very disappointing

I had stayed at this hotel 3 times prior and the place was AMAZING!! This time, it was dirty (the bathroom), the staff were rude and they kept running out of washcloths and apparently I and my guest were supposed to be OK with this. Then, when I decided to check out early, I was notified that I had to make all of the phone calls for my refund. I’m saddened to say that the grounds of the hotel weren’t as pretty as they were just 2 yrs ago either. Very disappointed.

    Happy with our stay

Loved the location and the beach is beautiful. We were told at check-in that dogs could not be on any floor but ground level, however, we saw a husky on the second floor and another front desk person later said it would have been ok. So, with no view from ground floor a higher room would have been nice. But that was the only discrepancy as the rate during our stay was so good and only $15/night extra for the pup. I call that a win!

    Dated and convenient

I was looking for a late minute deal in late January for a place on the beach that accepted big dogs. This place was one of the few, and the cheapest. I arrived and the lobby and could tell most of the structure was built decades ago. The receptionist checked me in and gave me a brief overview of the property. She was very nice and answered a few questions. When I went to park my car I was concerned as many employees were gathered in the parking lot smoking and talking. I went to my room which was technically beach front even though you couldn’t see the beach. They put all the dog people on the first floor, and there were many of us. Opening my door I was surprised by the bright paint and very clean room. Upon further inspection there was gaps in the wall and a two inch gap or so in the bottom of the door. Maybe that’s why the AC never could keep up. One of our beds had pee stains on the top sheet, and the other had dirty pillows so we mixed and matched to make a clean bed. When ready to get to the beach it’s no more than 20 feet from your room, which you can’t beat for the price. When I went to find the dog potty area I was confused why it was on the other side from where dog folks were being put. It was small but clean and did the job. No concerns with my neighbors until the second night some pot smoking kids kept being loud next door. There is no installation between rooms, so they were booked every other room until they showed up. If you are looking for a cheap beach front pet friendly room and don’t mind all the other BS, it’s a pretty good deal.

    Dated but convenient.

I’ve stayed at this resort a few times years ago and knew it to be dog friendly. Unfortunately it has not been updated since our last visit years ago. It is pet friendly and we even brought out pup to the beach without any problem.

    Would not recommend

We made a reservation for 2 rooms with 2 Queen beds for our family of 5 and 3 dogs. When we arrived at 10 pm on the night of our reservation, we were told that our rooms were not ready, that they were getting cleaned and that they should be ready around midnight. We went back (exhausted) at 11:30 pm and were told again that the rooms were not ready and that they could not tell us anything. The staff was not helpful at all. There were more people in the lobby in a similar situation. Unfortunately, we could not look anywhere else, because it was the fall break period and we were not able to find anything for us and the dogs. Eventually, one staff member was kind enough to assist us. I believe her name was Judy or Julie. She offered us one room. We ended up renting one room with 2 full beds and a bunk bed for both nights. We got in the room around 12:30 am and the staff was literally finishing cleaning it up. The cleanliness of the hotel and our bathroom was approx. 3 out of 5. Not the best. However, at that point, we were just glad to have a place to sleep after nearly 9 hours of driving and over 2 hours of waiting. We received a refund of $121. We would not recommend that hotel and will not use their services in the future. Thank you.

Love the layout of the green area.

The room was situated right off a ground level boardwalk surrounded by grass and palms right by the ocean dune. You could see the gulf from our picture window. We easily went out to the beach at sunrise for a walk. Not a 4 star hotel inside by any means, but adequate and more than met our needs.
