Trail's End River Retreat
If you’ve ever said, “Let’s just find a place where we can breathe, wander, and not hear traffic,” then hey—this is it. Trails End is the kind of place that feels like it’s always been waiting for you. Tucked into five acres of peace and open space, it’s quiet, laid-back, and just a short walk to the Cacapon River. You can hear it if you listen close enough.
And the best part? You don’t have to give up a single comfort to be out here.
Just enough room—and then some
The house sleeps six, comfortably. Like, “I don’t need a chiropractor after this trip” kind of comfortably.
✅ Master bedroom with a king bed (finally—room to stretch)
✅ Second bedroom with a queen
✅ Third bedroom with two twin beds (the kids usually call dibs)
✅ Full-size sleeper sofa in the den, for extra space or last-minute tagalongs
You’ve got two bathrooms—a full bath with a tub for post-hike soaks, and a half bath for quick pit stops. It’s simple, practical, and just right for a mix of early risers and night owls.
The kind of kitchen you actually cook in
Some rentals say “full kitchen” and mean a toaster and a butter knife. Not here.
You’ll find a fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to go from pancakes to pasta without having to MacGyver it. Whether you’re meal-prepping for the weekend or just heating up leftovers from town, this kitchen’s ready.
And when it’s time to eat? Head out to the screened-in porch, or catch some sun on the deck. There’s a propane grill out there, too—ready when you are.
Where outside feels like part of the stay
Let’s be real: the yard kind of steals the show. Five acres means space for games, slow walks, or just staring at the sky without feeling boxed in.

✅ Campfire ring—because s’mores taste better with crackling wood and good stories.
✅ Short walk to the Cacapon River (1/10 of a mile… close enough for bare feet if you’re brave)
✅ Pet-friendly for up to 2 pups (just a heads up: $40/pet per stay)
If your dog loves to run and roll in the leaves, this might be their best trip yet.

No need to rough it unless you want to. We’ve got you set up with:
✅ TV in the living room plus a DVD player (yes, those still exist—and sometimes, they’re exactly what you need)
✅ High-speed internet—fast enough for remote work or streaming
✅ Washer and dryer (especially handy for muddy socks)
✅ Window A/C and baseboard heat, because the weather’s always doing its own thing out here
✅ Private driveway + free parking

Final thought? Bring your people and stay a while.
Trails End isn’t flashy. It’s not trying to be. It’s just comfortable, homey, and easy to settle into. Whether you`re fishing, hiking, hot tubbing, or simply sitting still long enough to notice how blue the sky really is—this is where that happens.
So pack a bag. Bring your people (and your pups). The river’s waiting, the stars are out, and the porch light’s on.

House Rules & Checkout Instructions
This property is non-smoking.
Pet friendly/Dogs only, maximum of 2 dogs. Pet fee required for each pet.
So emergency vehicles can access the surrounding roads and properties, please do not block any driveways, roads or intersections.
Please do not exceed the number of vehicles driven per the number of bedrooms.
Check in time is 3 pm or anytime after, please call our office to see if any early check in is available the day before or the day of your arrival.
Check out time is 12 noon promptly. Our housekeeping staff travels a great distance, please depart no later than 12 noon.
Please bring your own personal hygiene products (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc).
Please bring any spices and cooking preparation items (oil, foil, wax paper, etc). * If the property has internet service, the internet logon information is located on the refrigerator
We have a rental agreement that we email to you to electronically sign.
While we want our guests to enjoy their visit, please be respectful of the neighbors by refraining from playing loud music or any unacceptable behavior.
Guests must be twenty five years of age or older to rent this property.
CHECKOUT INSTRUCTIONS:
If traveling with a pet at a pet friendly property, please remove pet residue from the yard and pet hair from the cabin.
Check out time is 12:00 noon promptly.
Please do not leave any perishable food in the refrigerator or freezer, condiments are acceptable to leave.
Please bag all trash in a standard trash bag and ensure all recyclables are bagged. Garbage service will not remove any non bagged trash.
Place your garbage in the trash box at the driveway entrance (for Woods Resort Properties only, please take your garbage to the community dumpster just past the outdoor pool). Please call office for trash pick up if garbage is overflowing.
Please wash all your dishes or start the dishwasher.
If there is a wood burning stove or fireplace, ensure the fire is burnt all the way down and close the door or fireplace screen. DO NOT PUT WATER INSIDE FIREPLACE OR WOODSTOVE, WATER WILL CRACK THE DEVICE. Leave all ashes in the fireplace or wood stove.
Campfire ring burning - if property has a campfire ring, please make sure campfire is burnt all the way down and wet down with water before departing.
Please turn off all lights before departing. Ensure all windows and doors are closed and locked.
During summer months, please set air conditioning to 75 degrees.
During winter months, please set heat to 55 degrees.
Please return key to lock box and roll the lock box numbers on all zeros (0-0-0-0). Ensure you leave the key in the lock box for housekeeping to access the property.
Please leave the cabin in an orderly and reasonable condition, our housekeeping staff works very hard to make the properties sparkle. Gratuity is appreciated for the housekeeping staff.
