The hotel was outstanding, and this is the most dog-friendly place we stayed on a two week road trip vacation. They even had a welcome basket for our pup at check-in. The rooms are very well-appointed and the location is right there to explore all of downtown Deadwood.

They were so welcoming for us and our dog. They even gave a gift of a collapseable dog bowl, bone, and tennis ball. They had a great large area for our dogs to run and relieve themselves. Best dog friendly hotel I have even seen so far and I have traveled quite a bit.

The bar does not allow dogs. You cannot dine with you pal. The staff is clueless.

Our little Daisy was able to go everywhere in the hotel/casino complex (except the indoor restaurant of course). She got a fresh bowl of water every time we dined outdoors - it was great! She even got her own food/water bowl along with a delicious biscuit at check-in. Very accommodating for humans too 😊

Casino was an interesting experience for our dog! Deck was closed so we could not eat in hotel restaurant with dog. Took take out to our room. There are a few restaurants in town with outdoor options.

The hotel overlooks the town. It was clean and everyone was friendly. You do need to walk through the casino and up the elevator to the hotel. Dog relief area is on the 1st floor of hotel. Dog does receive a tennis ball, dog bowl and treat. You get a sign on your door indicating a dog. Will return

The staff did not inform me where the pet relief area was, had to find that on my own. It’s inside the hotel, which is inconvenient if you’ve been traveling all day with your pet there’s no grassy areas around the hotel and you’d like relieve your pet before check-in. I had to walk a block away to find grass, I didn’t want to make my dog wait while I checked in to relieve themselves. You need to walk through the casino and up the elevators, which I was aware of, but to unpack/unload my car and keep my pet comfortable did not make this an easy transition for my pet. The hotel was fine, it was quiet and clean considering it’s a pet friendly room, expect an early morning because the curtains are not blackout.

We loved this hotel! The staff is so friendly and helpful. We got a dog dish, ball, & treats when we checked in. Dog owners should be aware that you must walk through a casino and then take an elevator to the hotel lobby. This was a first for my giant Newfie, but he handled it really well. From the lobby, you take a second set of elevators up to your room. We were on the 2nd floor, and luckily we were able to access the large pet area by taking the stairs. From the exit door to the pet area is a metal grated surface they have to walk on to get to the grassy trail area. If your pup is fine with a noisy casino, elevators, & walking on different surfaces, then you’ll enjoy your stay here too!

I highly recommend this place for anyone traveling with a dog. I heard numerous times how they love having furry friends stay there. We received a pet welcome package for a dog bowl, an organic treat and a tennis ball. They also give you a sign to put on your door letting everyone know there is a pet in the room and to do not disturb. They gave us an amazing room with a location close to an exit with a great running area. It's an old road of sorts. The town is beautiful and fun. We are definitely going back!

Can I give this hotel 10 stars? Other hotels in the area charged for a "luxury pet package" that included a dog treat and a dog bowl- this Holiday Inn had this included for free, with no pet fee! The receptionist was so nice, and later in the night she passed us as she was leaving for the night and said "goodbye, Will!" - she remembered our dog's name! Dogs are allowed in the casino AND the bar, which serves the full menu of the restaurant! It was so fun to be able to eat and hang out in the casino with Will - as we all know, there are lots of sacrifices and planning you have to do when traveling with a dog- it was so fun to not have to think about anything like that and just enjoy our time there! Besides being incredibly dog friendly, the rooms were beautiful, staff was super friendly, and the location was great. We can't wait to go back and can't recommend this hotel enough!!
