Hotel Torbräu, Munichs oldest hotel, has been offering a warm welcome to guests since 1490. Its location is excellent, a short walk down the Tal from Marienplatz, in the heart of Munich at the historic Isartor (one of Munichs original main tower gates). The 92 rooms range in size from snug singles, through spacious doubles, to two-room suites. The most expensive double rooms and suites have complimentary drinks and tea- and coffee-making facilities. All the rooms have modern bathrooms, air conditioning, private safe, internet connection and free mineral water. The Kirchlehner family, owners for over hundred years, are dedicated to ongoing improvements. Mixing traditional and contemporary is the philosophy of the owner Werner Kirchlehner. It is especially important to him not to treat guests as room or creditcard numbers, but to offer personalized service from the bell hop to the managing director. In todays fast-paced world, it is this motto that makes Hotel Torbräu stand out from modern chain hotels.
