Too many steps and not as dog friendly as other hotels I have stayed.

We had 6 seniors in our group. This hotel has no elevator. The stairs are treacherous. I fell on my way to my room. One step was higher than the rest. No pets allowed on the beach or pier. We should of done more research.

We stayed in the hotel's original, older part and liked it quite a bit. This place is over 110 years old, so few things would not match modern amenities, but for us, that was the selling point. The staff was very cordial, too.

This was our first visit and can’t wait to go back. Our dog was very welcomed! They have treats when you check-in and the dog run was an added bonus. You can not beat the location, so close to the beach, boardwalk and wharf!

Great location right off the boardwalk; our king bed room had a lovely view of the ocean and pier. Everything was spotlessly clean, their little dog run was a welcome convenience, and the desk clerk was very helpful in booking a second night for us. They even had an EV charging spot that we got to use. The only minor bummer was that there was a stranger (homeless?) sleeping on the patio furniture on the front balcony when we arrived, very late at night. We nodded to each other, no one made a fuss, and he left after a couple hours. The Picnic Basket downstairs and around the corner has good coffee. I would absolutely stay here again.

The dog run area is well kept. The rooms are quite dog friendly too. A very cool, funky hotel that fur baby moms and dads will enjoy with a dog friendly beach right there. Highly recommend Casablanca.

The room was dirty. There was hair in the shower and on the towel. Then, last I checked we still have a raging pandemic going on - the room above me as well as next door were both having parties until 7 am. Yelling off the balcony and inviting strangers up - super spreader event. When I called the front desk to complain at 1:00 am - nobody was there all night. So these super spreaders have free reign to party all night. The dog walk area was just gravel full of dog poop that people didn’t clean up after. Completely upset that this cost me almost $400.

We overall really loved the Casablanca Inn. Great room, just what we expected. We were disappointed that we couldn't use the dog run due to large amounts of dog feces all over. We always clean up after our dog... apparently other guests do not, nor does the hotel. Need posted reminders to clean up, and maybe a bag dispenser and trash can would help, or charge patrons a little more to pay for someone to do this. Our dog did not even want to go in.
Everything else was great, comfortable room, friendly staff, nice location. A few blocks from a dog friendly park and beach. We would definately return and hope something is done about the dog run - KiraFeb 6, 2021Best Location and Room!!
This hotel is so nice it is located directly across from the pier and walking distance to the famous amusement park. we got one of the newer rooms only a month old so of course it was amazing. we really enjoyed this hotel and would definitely recommend it

There was zero warning that they are under a massive remodel. Price did not reflect that, at all.
Parking is a challenge.
Room was recently remodeled and clean. Nice bed.
Other than dog run, nothing special for the pup. No treats or acknowledgement.
Nice to walk to amusement park (closed COVID), pier, etc
Stingy with towels, soaps and blankets. Balcony is not private and only separated by chairs. Can’t beat the view though. Grounds need a good power washing and we had some spider webs with spiders.
Thai restaurant in hotel is pretty good and worth trying.
Ask for AAA discount in advance.

My first reservation was canceled mere hours before departure. BringFido found Sparky another and better beach front hotel in minutes! With a new destination to research, BringFido provided accurate information for every desired pet friendly accommodation we needed. They charge $25 per night for a dog in the room. At check in they gave us a little bag with doggie treats as well as two flyers, one that has pet friendly restaurants and bars and another that has pet friendly things to do in Santa Cruz.
They have a dog run that is only covered in rocks but it is fenced off and lucky to have a spot to take the dog to do a quick fetch or go to the bathroom. Hotel itself, it is a 2 star hotel that is charging 4 star prices some nights. Not a "nice" place as far as quality but for the pet friendly ness, it was worth it.
