Overall, this place is fine when having the dogs with us so I would stay here again. The staff was friendly, and the room seemed to be clean.

This place seemed to be run by a family. They were polite enough. Not overly friendly or welcoming just matter-of-fact. It's Covid time so I understand people could be on edge serving the public. Strangely, for a stay lasting six nights we were placed at the back of the property along a semi-dirt path. At first I thought oh this is where the dog owners get for obvious reasons. Except when I emerged the next couple of days I saw dogs and their owners emerging from better locations. They were White. I am not. I hate making those kinds of observations but it was pretty weird and a little obvious. I clean up quite nicely when necessary but when I'm on vacation I like to be comfortable so i dont put a lot of effort into being overly made up. There was a woman staying next to us that seemed to never leave and was frequently just sitting outside in the smoking area, smoking. After the third day I wondered what she was doing there alone, seemingly not going anywhere. She wouldn't engage in even a hello as we came and left. It was just odd and a tiny bit unnerving. I'm a single mom with a teenage daughter so when we travel I'm on alert for our safety. I thought if no one else was in our "back alley" (which seemed to be the case after day 3) no one would know if someone came back there and harmed us. We kept the DND sign on our whole stay for everyone's safety. We disinfected our room immediately upon check-in and hope that after we left, they did the same, safely. The fridge and tiny microwave were functional and we used them well while we were there. The decor was nice. But the coastal air is damaging and the hinges and inside of the fridge were rusted. I'm from Hawaii so I know how it goes. They should really consider painting the doorways the same brown color as the walls so the rust wouldn't look so obvious. I did like that there was a tiny doggy patch with bags and disposal.

This hotel was not terrible by any means however, the office is across a busy street from the actual hotel we stayed at. There isn’t a great dog area to take them on that side either. The room itself was fine though and the rate was fairly priced
