On the river and walk to Main St. John & Laura are the owners and very accommodating. The bed was awesome. Woke up for the first time with no back ache.

My room in this family-owned motel (#25) was very clean and comfortable. No musty smells and a very clean bathroom. It was small, but perfect for 1 person and my medium-sized dog. Upon check-in, the owner asked a lot of questions related to my dog, such as whether I brought a blanket to cover the bedspread and whether I had poop bags. I appreciated that because his vigilance meant that the place would be more likely to be clean. I also felt bad for him because it sounds like he's encountered some irresponsible dog owners.
He and his daughter both warned me that the stairs to the second floor were grated, which many dogs have trouble with. My dog did -- it seems like she can't discern the stair part and just saw air. I didn't have a problem carrying her up and down, but that might be a problem for bigger dogs. But again, I was sufficiently warned before making the reservation. I slept through breakfast, but it sounded good (basic stuff like hard boiled eggs, yogurt, etc). It's on a side street, off the hustle of main street. And the setting is amazing with a spectacular view of the mountains and right on the edge of a flowing river (as the name suggests.) I didn't use the hot tubs (open 24 hours) or the patio (with a fire pit at night) except to walk through while my dog sniffed her way toward the dog park conveniently located right behind the motel. I'd stay again for sure.

What a great spot right next to the river and a dog park around the corner. The owners are amazing and deserve your business. Plus, Ouray is gorgeous. Get to this place as soon as you can.

Situated along the river and next to a dog park, this hotel is perfectly located. Except for a couple of rooms, all others require steps to be climbed. The steps are metal grates, so this could be a challenge for some dogs. Rooms are pretty standard - could do with some upgrading but they were clean.

It is an old place, but that was expected. The room was small but clean. If the room had been bigger I would have extended my stay. I have a big dog.

Great location with a dog park located directly behind the motel, abundant nearby areas to walk "fido". Overall good experience would not hesitate to book this motel again.

Close to downtown Ouray. Clean, updated rooms. The walls were a bit thin however, and the stairs outside are made of metal and loud when used by other guests, so if you do stay, I’d recommend a top floor room if possible.

If it wasn't, it should be. No special dog perks, but good location and the manager provided a good dog-friendly restaurant recommendation.
