- LauraOct 11, 2021Highly recommend for all dog parents!
We had an amazing stay in DC because of this hotel. We were able to travel comfortably with our dogs. They gave us a room far enough so we wouldn’t disrupt other guests and so our dogs wouldn’t be triggered to bark because of constant noise. Our room was laminate floor which is clever for any water spills or potty accidents. Our room also included a fridge to keep the dog food refrigerated. The hotel staff always made time to smile and compliment our pets. Best part was the great walking area located steps from the hotel. Always had access to grass and sidewalks to enjoy strolls. Highly recommend Hampton Inn & Suites by the DC Navy Yard and will be back. Thanks again!

Great downtown location. Hard to find something right in the city that is pet friendly and there is a park right across the street.
- JulieSep 19, 2020Great location, warm welcome
Very dog friendly hotel. Hosts at the reception were welcoming and the Navy Yard was beautiful.
- AlexaJul 1, 2018A Great One Night Stay
We booked this hotel for the proximity to the baseball stadium and was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. We paid extra for a room with a park view, which I would not recommend. We were on the 7th floor and all we could see was the parking lot and the very top of the stadium. I have a feeling we got a lower floor due to the fact that we had dogs and they wanted us to have better access to the ground floor for bathroom breaks. It might be different if on one of the top floors but if you can't guarantee the floor level it's not worth the money. The room was big with a really big bathroom and huge shower. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever lied on. Hotel staff was super friendly and were very nice to our dogs. I believe we were the only ones with dogs at the hotel because we were very popular whenever we went through the lobby. I'm unsure if the rooftop bar was dog-friendly or not. I was going to ask but the pups were so tired after a long day of adventures that we ended up staying in the room instead.
My only problem with the hotel (which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars) is that I was mysteriously charged $240 from the rooftop bar. When we checked in we charged the room to my debit card which included the price of the room, tax, and $50 deposit in case the dogs damaged the room. As we only stayed for one night, we checked out the next morning and opted for them to email our receipt. We got home from our trip on a Friday which is when I did my bills and discovered the overcharge. I immediately called and the manager who helped me was very nice and did not make me go any extreme lengths to prove that the charge was not ours like I had expected. I asked how this could have happened since, as I said before, the dogs and I stayed in the room while my husband attended the Nationals game so we never even went to the roof. It turns out the charge was the result of someone saying "charge my room" and either saying our room number or the bartender mixing up the numbers. Either way I feel there should be a better system, such as providing your room card. The overcharge resulted in my bank account not being reimbursed until after the weekend, which was faster than the 4-5 business days I was originally told because my bank called the hotel to speed up the process (as suggested by the manager) so I could make my student loan payment in time.
Besides the bill mix up, which should definitely have its payment policy re-evealuated, the hotel was great and we will definitely be back.
