Reviews
- MargaretJul 26, 2023Easy access
Took care in placing us near a side door. Rooms were clean.
- MarkJun 2, 2023Decent place, nasty staff
First person I was in contact with comes from down the hall huffing like I'm bothering her to check in; she seemed more interested in eating her banana and talking with other staff than checking me in. The room was nice and adequate, There was no actual place for dogs, just use the grass around the building.
- LorenaJul 10, 2022Just okay
The hotel room itself was just fine that we were in. I like that we had a ground level room with a big window and bench seat for my dog to sit on and look out. What wasn’t so great was that pool and hot tub were closed the whole weekend due to being broken. Sad but not the end of the world.
What I found more annoying was that the staff wasn’t the friendliest and communication was horrible. We checking in, there is s sign saying that check out is at noon. I asked the lady at the front desk if that was correct or if 11:00 am as stated when I made the reservations. She assured me it’s whatever is posted (being that on the sign).I noticed that the charges were not correct as confirmed and emailed ahead of time to me and showed her my email on my phone. She then corrected the total. There was a sign saying if you use a debit card, you wouldn’t get your refund back for up to a week or more. Something about they double charge and then give back the other half after checkout. A bit weird. So use a credit card!
The next day, I went to the breakfast that comes with your payment, and my partner and I noticed that the juice machine wasn’t working and asked the guy at the front desk about it. He seemed bothered that we asked but grudgingly got up and fixed it. Later that morning the fire alarm went off and everyone went outside. On my way outside, I asked him if we should be concerned and to see what was going on. He shrugged and said the waffle maker was on fire. No warning or communication to any of the other guests. Once outside, another guest said that the same thing happened two days ago with the toaster. We had to wait outside until the fire department got there so they could turn the alarms off. Once the alarms were turned off, some oft the guests went in to see if we could go back in. Again, no communication from the hotel staff.
Then he knocks on our door at 11:28 and shouts that we were supposed to check out at a 11:00. The knocking and shouting sets my dog on a barking stint. Clearly not staff who know much about dogs.
I let him know that we were told at check in that check out was at noon but we were about to check it anyways. When I did check out, he was extremely rude and I explained that the lady who checked us in confirmed that it was noon and I pointed to the sign right behind him. He was snarky to me and about the lady.
To end this review, I would be cautious in staying here. Make sure you look over your final bill receipt, hopefully no fires, the pool and hot tub won’t be broken, and staff will be more communicative and friendlier. - KarenJun 23, 2022Good Basics, No frills
This Microtel was not as well kept as the one in Tomah, WI. The basic design is simple and all I needed for one night. The problems were that the pool was freezing, the hot tub was out of commission, and the back door had to be propped open because the key system didn't work.
- KayleighJun 21, 2022Fantastic!
We stayed here for an overnight stay on our way through the area on our road trip. This was BY FAR our favorite hotel we stayed in during this trip. There is a nice grassy area for dogs to use the bathroom as well as sidewalks around the hotel for quick walks. Our room was on the ground floor with side access for easy in and out. The room was impeccably clean and up to date. Beds were comfy and the room was the perfect size for the three of us and our big German Shepherd. Affordable price for a truly pleasant stay! Highly recommend!
- LauraJun 20, 2022Quiet area
Had nice sidewalk and quiet street to walk dog. The pet garbage and regular garbage was full when we arrived and didn’t get emptied for 4-5 days.
- SandyJun 6, 2022Quiet hotel
Small but nice rooms, great green spaces for dog walks.
- LizaApr 22, 2022Great place
Super nice and clean, affordable, ground floor rooms available. Would stay again.
- SusanMar 30, 2022Lots of walking spots!
Motel is adjacent to a couple open areas and a walking loop. Dog rooms are on the first floor near outside door. Very convenient.
- KateOct 1, 2021Beautiful doggy space
Great room, close to the door. Lovely sidewalks for dog walkies.
- KerstenAug 28, 2021Great stay! Very Pet friendly
Clean and nice. Thanks for making our stay wonderful with our French Bulldog!
- LaDonnaAug 12, 2021Very nice!
Very nice place to stay and great staff.
- HeatherJul 19, 2021Made our stay easy!
Very friendly staff, and a first floor room right near the door at the end of the hallway. It was so easy to unload our car and take our pup out for walks. There is a HUGE grass area right behind this exit for walking and playing, and there is a fenced in retention pond out front and other dog parents were walking around it with their pooches, so there must be a trail or sidewalk over there. There is an indoor pool, and dogs are not allowed in there, but there is an outdoor patio right there, so my son was able to swim while we enjoyed a cold beverage just outside and could keep an eye on him through the glass (he is a very competent swimmer, but I still like to keep an eye on him). Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!
- ShellyApr 6, 2021Good place to with Fido
We have two fairly large dogs. The double queen room was a bit small but not to the point of being uncomfortable. The room was clean and the staff friendly. And there was a great exercise area for both the dogs and the humans. We will stay there again.
- MaryMar 17, 2021No surprises
The room has everything you need! Spacious and located to enter/exit quietly with the dog. Staff was upbeat about hosting pets!
