Gas fireplace gives a cozy ambiance. Hotel is just across from a boardwalk along the beach cliff that extends quite a ways in each direction. Great for walking our dog.

Check-in was easy. No "doggy bag" like we received when we stayed at a different hotel here a while back. The room was okay, very dated and in need of some updating. Carpeting was stained, desk chair as well. Bed was comfortable. We had a partial ocean view from the front window. There was no grass area for pets. We had to take our dog across to the beach area, but that was mostly sand, weeds and a few plants. They had water in the room, but charge $5 per bottle. I think it should have been complimentary for the price of the room. Also am being charged $50 more on my pending credit card charge than what the paper statement shows, so I will have to call the hotel if this is not corrected on the final posting. Overall, it was okay, but I would not stay here again. Probably will try one of the hotels in town that have grassy area for my dog. The beach is not dog friendly by the hotel. We took her up to San Simeon, where she could walk on the beach.

We had a nice stay at the Fogcatcher Inn. I have to be honest and say that the carpets were pretty badly stained and the place is a little worn down. The heater in our room (which we did need in July) was super noisy. The bathroom was dated but sufficient. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a good place to stay with my dog.

Although it was offseason and the hotel was nowhere near capacity, I was given a basement room where the only window looked out at the stairs leading down to the door. At a beachfront hotel this was very disappointing and not what the picture online showed. The room smelled like stale cigarettes and the bathroom lighting was dim in front of the sink and mirror area. The staff were all college/high school students who were very nice, but knew nothing about the area. No one was around when I wanted to check out. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable.

Charming place unpretentious and friendly with a great choice of wines to have by the fireplace in the room overlooking the sunset. Sonny Boy our dog enjoyed the long walks on the boardwalk and the beach. Definitely will come back

Staff was great and Anna at the front desk is very friendly and knowledgeable! They are in the process of painting the exterior and will be refreshing the rooms. I could definitely tell we were in a “dog friendly” room…it smelled like wet dog as soon as we opened the door. Not a huge deal for us but I would expect this would be an issue for non-dog people. Location is great, nice seating areas around the property, and can hear the waves at night! Can’t wait to stay again, especially after they refresh the rooms.

Our room was very nice and the hotel was pet friendly. Clean, large room with nice facilities. Wish oceanfront rooms were available for pets. It would be the perfect place to stay.
