Very close to the beach and boardwalk, and walking distance to many great restaurants. However, we became a little disappointed since we had to change the room from the partial ocean view to no ocean view because the air conditioner was broken. I wish the hotel would have contacted us about the issue before the day of arrival since we were so looking forward to enjoying the ocean view from the room to be relaxed in San Diego. (They waved the dog fee which was nice.)

Booking.com apparently took over this reservation, adding a special layer of sleight of hand. This property is a dump, room was dirty with torn carpet, chipped and scratched paint, cracked tile and, well, grunge. We had asked for a quiet lower room because our dog is old and blind. Nope. Expected at least enough towels to both shower. Nope. Had 12 people staying right next door in party mode. Front desk staff were uninterested. WiFi limited to two registered devices max. Who does that anymore??!! It seemed tired, sad and just waiting for the wrecking ball. Don't stay there. Posted price is just a suggestion. Read ALL the fine print. Ugh.

No special pet amenities but the rooms were recently remodeled and modern. I had an upstairs room that had a nice vaulted ceiling for a feeling of spaciousness. Rooms were well lit (my biggest complaint in hotel rooms is they don’t have enough light).

I was looking for a dog-friendly hotel as close to Pacific Beach as possible and Pacific Shores Inn was perfect! It's only 1 block away, making it so easy to walk around with my dog! They do have a $45 pet fee and do not provide bowls in the room, so make sure to bring those with you!
