  Nice location

  Santa Cruz is a cool town. Ocean Pacific Lodge was okay. It always feels weird when you have to do business with the front desk people through a plexiglass barrier. However, the room was nice and it was close to some really nice walking along the beach. Our dog thought it was great!

  Clean, reasonably quiet, and the room had a back door so I could easily take my dog outside to pee.

  Noisy and rude staff

  When we got here, we had to check-in through a window. They still have Covid restrictions and are living in the dark ages. The lady who checked us in was rude. There was noise all night long. Lots of homeless around the hotel, which made walking our dog very uncomfortable. The room was small and very expensive. Wouldn’t recommend.

  There was nothing special about the room and the area stunk like rotten eggs. I had children and a puppy and we were on vacation. Someone next to us turned us in for having fun. They really should have used their ear plugs.

  Two blocks from the beach. Room and entire property were very clean. Everything, including the price, was great.

  Better than expected!

  I chose Ocean Pacific Lodge based on price alone. What a wonderful surprise to find a clean, bright and spacious room. The pool and spa were fantastic, but what really makes this place great is the staff!

  I have two small dogs, so $30 per dog per night is pricey. Everything was good enough. My dogs barked every time someone closed their door, so I got the worst sleep, but hopefully your dogs don't do that.
  There's enough parking, so no issues there.

  Great location though, beach is walking distance, but the closest beach does not allow dogs. You can drive for 5 minutes or walk 30 minutes to an off-leash dog beach.

  We had a nice sized room and it was comfortable and quiet. They have a dog run to take out the dogs. Great location to all the beautiful sites in Santa Cruz.

  Good all round experience

  Remodeled, good beds and friendly staff. Our room was quiet enough near the pool but heard the door slam to another room at 2 am. Small alley off the parking lot made a sweet dog room too. Half refrigerator, good coffee maker and microwave means you don’t have to eat every meal out. Dog beach a short drive stairs down to a no leash beach are just past the lighthouse north of the hotel. All around great stay for us and doggie.

  Great clean, quiet place

  Made same day reservations. Friendly staff. Easy check in. Love that they recycle/reuse the plastic room cards. Only con is the tight parking.

  This stay was mediocre. Nothing about the hotel stood out, and nothing was dissatisfying either. Pet rooms have hard wood floors which is nice and they are all on the bottom floor. The beds were pretty high off the ground, so if your doggo is not a great jumper, you may need to assist them up. There was a nice size fenced area off the parking lot for your buddy to relieve themself, waste bags provided at entrance. No special attention or treatment for pets. No bowls, treats, etc were provided so make sure you have all your pet needs!

  Excellent location. All staff were extremely friendly. Well organized with printed information on which restaurants were pet friendly and how to get to pet friendly beach which is about a 15 walk. You can drive but parking limited.

  friendly and helpful employees
  clean room, comfortable bed
  coffee, fridge, microwave in room

  Cons:
  Early morning noise - trucks, construction

  Overall, this hotel is a good choice.

  Nice, clean place. Fair for the money with great location. The fridge and microwave were great for use in my dog’s homecooked diet. Courteous staff. The room with a single bed - is a bit small - it is a double bed. But everything was comfortable

  Great dog Friendly Hotel

  Room was great size and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not a lot of places will welcome 2 100lbs dogs without question. The pet deposit was reasonable and service exemplary.
