Went to visit family back home, love that they allow pets! Some cons: walls are thin, could hear neighbors arguing late at night, could hear kids up at 2am in the hall, could hear the upstairs neighbors at 5am. The pros: was set up next to housekeeping which could come in handy if I left my dog alone and she decided to bark (less chance of causing a disturbance to neighbors) so that was cool.

When traveling with our two small dogs, we always request a ground floor room. Frequent potty breaks are needed, and it is much more convenient to be on the ground floor. When we arrived at this hotel, we were told that their ground floor rooms had been "sold out for months," despite our request for one at the time we made the reservation. We were put in a third floor room, down a long hallway, up two flights of stairs or the even more scary elevator, then down another long hallway to the room. When I pointed out to the reservation clerk the inconvenience to us and the stress on our dogs, she graciously cancelled the dog fee. However, I wish we would have been told at the time of making the reservation that no ground floor rooms would be available. We could have then considered a different lodging option.

Appreciated the refrigerator and hard surface floors. No great places to take pups for potty breaks, but overall acceptable. Extend Stay America is not a hotel. It's for folks that need long-term accommodations, which we did not know. Expect some differences in service, e.g., no ice or vending machines, no breakfast service, no in room coffee maker, and no blow dryer (although the front desk did have one I could borrow).

Loved the convenient location close to Hwy 101. It wasn't noisy, and there are miles of hilly sidewalks along trees, nice neighborhoods, and private parks (not open to public but pretty to walk beside) for exercising our dog and us! Our room was the studio type. It was clean, spacious, and included a small kitchen. We could obtain most of what we needed from the front desk to prepare simple cooked meals. staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. There are several areas for dogs to relieve themselves, and although they had dispensers for bags, they were empty-our only tiny complaint. I highly recommend this hotel!
