    Great location

The hotel is nice. Our air conditioning was not working great and it was unusually hot in Denver. There is a pop-up dog park 2 blocks from the hotel.

    Disappointing

This Kimpton location seems to be having staffing issues. One valet guy who was drowning in cars to park/retrieve; no bellhop; inexperienced and indifferent check-in staff; (and on a minor note: no bath towels in my bedroom). Unloading the car from the city street (no driveway or off road place to stop to unload) and without any help, with multiple dogs and a lot of luggage, and having to wait 10 to 15 minutes on the sidewalk for the valet to just take my keys (leaving my car on the street, which made me uneasy). It was a very stressful check-in.

I usually pick Kimpton hotels if I can and until the visit to this location, I’ve had a very good experience. In fact, the night before this I stayed at a Kimpton in Salt Lake City and gave that 5 bones. Not sure what’s happening in Denver, but they need to get on it.

    Great hotel

The staff were great. Hotel was perfect. Only issue was that we had to walk a few blocks to find a grass/dirt spot for the dogs to go to the bathroom.

    Positive Pet Vibes

Never, ever felt like my 90 lb GSD or 55 lb golden were not welcome. My dogs enjoyed the stay and getting in and out was a breeze.

    Cosmo was welcomed!

Water bowls in the lobby, treats at check-in, and friends at happy hour! Hotel was clean and comfy. Just beware of the expensive parking in downtown Denver.

    Very pet friendly!

Our dogs enjoyed their amenities and hospitality! Room came complete with clean dog beds, stainless steel bowls for food and water. Even provided dog treats! Happy Dogs, Happy Life! Thank you Kimpton Hotel Monaco at Denver!

Not what it was billed to be

A bit overrated on the experience. Certainly dog-friendly staff, but had to ask for treats, pay for someone to deliver food and water bowls to my room, there were no doggie beds, the park to walk dogs into 2 blocks away was shut down for construction by city government, and my dog had to "go" on concrete outside the hotel.

Nice dog bed provided by hotel. Met many dog-friendly dogs and people. The service was first rate and friendly.

    Clean!!

Very clean and nice employees! Room was great. Bed was comfortable. The door service was a great help with having two dogs. There was also a pop-up dog park that was completely empty right around the corner. There isn’t anywhere around the hotel where your dog can go. Also parking was a little pricey ($50) per night.

    Kimpton Always great

This Kimpton, like most, was amazing. Big, spacious room, friendly staff, and always great with my little one. The only cons (and I still wouldn't take away from my rating because I knew this going in) were no grass areas close by for your baby to go potty ( mine had to do it on the sidewalk). Also, not a great neighborhood after dark. Other than that, great stay!

    Downtown Doggie Delight

The downtown location didn't have an on-site pet relief area BUT there was a grassy area 1 block away and on off leash dog park 2 blocks away. Our senior dog was able to get her exercise in an urban setting without spending too much time walking on pavement. The hotel itself is first rate, and the staff seems to love dogs (there were several other dogs staying there during our time). The hotel had a welcome sign with the guest dogs names on it, and two water bowls right at the main entrance. Definitely recommend this place when one is feeling a need to stay at a 4-bone hotel.

    Dissapointing Denver

I suppose the good news is once you have hit bottom, there is no where to go but up. Downtown Denver has hopefully bottomed out. Our stay was fine. The hotel is pet friendly for urban dogs.

Incredibly dog friendly and luxurious feel!

Loved how dog friendly the hotel was. The receptionist at the front desk even had her own pup behind the desk that my pup played with for a bit. The room was so spacious and everything was extremely comfortable and welcoming for me and my dog alike. Breakfast was fantastic too. Will stay here again.

    Always a great experience!

The staff is so friendly and professional. Had dog beds and food bowls waiting in the room for our dogs. Restaurant was just as good as we remembered. This was our 2nd time staying at The Kimpton, but won’t be our last.

    Beautiful hotel but

A lovely hotel with great rooms and very friendly staff...NO complaints about anything. However, if your dog isn't accustomed to an urban environment with all of the traffic sounds, cars, buses, and pedestrians, AND if you have a pooch that's timid to begin with, this is not the best location. There is a nearby dog park (dirt), but if your dog isn't used to rambunctious dogs, he/she may have "taking care of business" issues. Having said that, the Kimpton Monaco (with the assistance of BringFido) accommodated us when another hotel lost our reservation so BIG Kudos to them for helping us out.

    Nice Room

We had a large room with a king bed and sofa, two TVs. The dog park is only two blocks away. Our old girl can't make it that far but she was happy to use the sidewalk (instantly cleaned up of course). Has to be the most pet friendly hotel in downtown Denver.

    No grass nearby

While this was a great hotel, ours is a suburb dog, so the 5 minute walk to the only grass nearby (at Arapahoe & 17th) to relieve himself was disappointing. That park is also a home for many homeless people, broken booze bottles, brazen rats & obvious crack use (city's problem, not the Kimpton, but still). If you have a city dog that can poo on concrete, you won't even notice. There's a daily happy hour from 5-6p with free wine in the dog-friendly lobby. Loved that! Their restaurant is top notch, but dogs aren't allowed & they don't have a patio, so we had take-out once, then took our business elsewhere...

Union Station & Dairy Block have fabulous choices within walking distance. Kimpton provides a (small) dog bed & food/water bowls, but we didn't get offered treats until we been there 6 days already & it was by the valet, not the front desk staff. Front desk staff were also very stingy when we asked for poo bags (the Kimpton in Austin, TX gave us a whole roll on check in, so having to ask daily was annoying). Very quiet except the night a band from Red Rocks Amphitheater was there. We'll try the Kimpton Born at Union Station next time we're in town.

    Horrible, Snobby Experience

The front desk claimed our booking could not be completed as expected (king deluxe) because we booked through a 3rd party and, as such, get whatever they have. The front desk lady was incredibly snobby about it as well, talking down her nose to me the entire time. I paid the up-charge for the king deluxe. She then told me they had none left even if I wanted to pay to upgrade. A simple search online found that I could book a king deluxe that night online, confirmed by the BringFido representative I spoke to. Overall, we were treated as if we were lesser people just because we booked through a third party site like BringFido. The staff was snobby and unhelpful from beginning to end. Absolutely disgusting experience. Would not recommend to anyone.

Bad location for a dog owner

Bad location for a dog owner. This place is right smack dab in the middle of downtown Denver. As they advertised a dog park is two blocks away no problem. NOT TRUE though! it’s closer to 2 miles and is a triangle in the middle of several streets. How you’re supposed to access it with all the traffic around it I don’t know and there’s certainly no place to park. Also it wasn’t in a area that I felt comfortable. We went on our own and found a Dog Park near railroad which was wonderful. Either way you’re driving. Another issue accessing your car. Plan carefully, no emergencies allowed at hotel and it’s not easy to get your dogs in and out when arriving or leaving or simply taking them for a walk. And because you are downtown you have to use their parking facilities which are not private, they are open and you have to use In-N-Out. So each time you need to walk your dog you need to get your car out to take them wherever you need to go.

    Beautiful hotel, great location

The hotel is very beautiful and welcoming for pups. Bowls and a bed were waiting in the room, which was beautifully decorated. Ours overlooked the garage which was nit a great view and made the room a little dark. But it was well-appointed with Frette linens and stocked with toiletries. We choose to do breakfast sandwich take out and food was delicious!

    Fantastic Stay!

We were in town looking at houses for a possible relocation and had to bring our two pups along (A German Shepherd and a Rottweiler (150lb). We were pretty nervous having to take them to a hotel but everybody was so awesome at the Kimpton!
The room had water bowls and beds for the pups. Granted the rottie slept on both beds. Haha.
The valet service worked great to get the pups in and out quickly.
There is a dog park about 2 blocks from the hotel which was an easy enough walk each morning even in the cold weather. (Highly recommend picking up breakfast from Syrup on your way back to the hotel! Delicious!).
The valet also gave treats to our pups.
Overall, a very patient hotel that welcomes pups of all sizes which is awesome because it can be difficult to find places allowing big dogs.
    We will be back!

    The Pet Friendliest

This is my favorite hotel I’ve stayed in with my two medium sized dogs. They definitely care about pets here — there is a water bowl located at the entrance and they offered us dog beds and bowls at check in. The hotel is absolutely lovely and our dogs joined us in the lobby for the evening happy hour. Would love to return to Denver and stay in the Kimpton, with or without the dogs!

this is really a nice high end hotel. just wish the area to walk dogs was closer than 2 city blocks. else it’s all cement. if it’s bad weather, that’s gonna be a hike.

    Great location, small room

Hotel is beautiful and with great location close to 16th street mall. Super sweet to dogs (saw dogs of all sizes over 4 days) however, it was a smaller room. Not sure if all rooms are that small or just pet-friendly ones but would be tight squeeze for 2 ppl + larger dog. We just fit with small Boston Terrier.

    Beautiful rooms and dog friendly

Arrived late and a little frazzled - day 2 of a four day solo road trip with my 115 lb dog. Amy at the valet was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Room was beautiful and comfortable. I love Kimptons and appreciate how dog friendly they are. The only thing missing was someone to help with luggage/luggage cart.

    Fantastic hotel!

The hotel itself was great the food was tasty, they were very accommodating and checked in on us frequently during our stay. The only thing was they didn’t allow us to bring our two (12 lb) dogs into the restaurant area which was a bit disappointing though I understand because usually that’s the case with food establishments just wish there was a way around it since they were staying with me so I either had to order food to go or eat elsewhere. Still gave them 5 bones though because it was a lovely stay and that was understandable.

    Downtown Denver

Hotel had very friendly and kind staff. They were pet friendly and welcomed our puppy. Hotel is within walking distance to a few pet friendly restaurants. Close to centennial park which has a wonderful area to walk and spend the day. Only downfall, the hotel did not have any suggestions on pet friendly restaurants or things to do....we had to figure it out ourselves.
