  Clean and Quiet

  Stayed at the Doubletree over Labor Day weekend. Enjoyed the view of the Animas River from our balcony and the convenience of the river walk to exercise our pup. The room was clean and quiet and loved having 2 sinks in the bathroom so my hubby and I each had our own grooming spot. Had dinner on the patio at the Animas Grill on site, also with a view of the river and was able to enjoy the evening with our dog present. Only one other small dog was there with its owners and both dogs were well behaved. Great nacho. Also, Main Street Durango is an easy walk from the hotel with lots of shops and restaurants to enjoy and the Durango Silverton train station and museum are a short walk away. An Albertsons grocery store is next door for the little things you might need. Very conveniently located.

  Super pricey

  Last minute booking and was very $$$. But due to car issue we had to stay. Room was nice and hotel is on the Animas River so the location is awesome for us and the pup. (Ergo the price!). No kitchen, teeny fridge so we ate at the restaurant which allows dogs on the patio, right by the river. The food was dreadful. We would stay at the hotel again, but would not eat at the restaurant.

  Could Be Better

  Grateful to have a riverfront place that allows dogs, but for the $400/per night plus fees it was way overpriced. Called multiple times trying to get room service, no answer. Called the front desk to tell them and when they finally answered we were told they were short-handed, but they’d walk over to see what was up and recommended we call again in a few minutes which we did, still no answer. Then on day two we left for the entire day only to return to find our room hadn’t been cleaned so again we tried calling the front desk, no answer. So we walked down and were told we must request room cleaning if we want it so we did and were told he’d send someone down right away. We waited and no one came. All of this is tolerable, but for $400 a night I’d expect better than to be lied to. Three bones is generous because I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and you can’t beat the hotel’s location.

  Unexpected Stay

  This was the first time using BringFido to book a reservation and I loved the stay. The gentleman who checked us in loved Milo and welcomed him as a guest. In the room they had a bowl for water on a mat along with some dog treats. The grounds were very convenient for potty stops. Would definitely recommend.

  Nice & comfy

  Great location. Close to downtown. Great river walk for the doggie. Front Desk was welcoming & did everything to provide a comfortable stay.

  Welcoming to our dog and us. Great location on the Animas River walk, and walking distance to downtown Durango. Roomy room, though couldn’t get heat to work.

  Great location

  Right next to the Animas river so very easy place to walk the dog. Also very convenient walking distance to downtown restaurants and shopping. Staff very friendly. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Hotel is “tired” especially for the rates charged. But I find when you have a pet, don’t expect “luxury “.

  Riverside first floor room with a small patio area. Beautiful spot right by the river and a dog walk. Perfect spot and great room.

  Would have gotten 5

  Really enjoyed. Dog loved it. The only reason we gave them 4 and not 5 - we chose to order dinner for our room. My husband wanted a steak and he did get a nice one but it was served in a box with plastic utensils. Minor issue likely due to being short staffed.

  Great location but not exactly dog friendly

  The location along the river and walking distance to the shopping areas was perfect. However, not being allowed to leave your pet alone in the room under any circumstances does mean that this hotel is not exactly pet friendly. They do have other benefits like pet bowls, treats and a pet menu (did not try it) but all pet owners carry these items with them anyway.

  Great Location

  Friendly and accommodating staff. Greeted my pup with a cookie and of course passed on the classic Doubletree cookies to my family. Awesome dog park nearby hotel with a convenient dog wash located across the street near the Albertsons. Great location steps from downtown Durango.

  Would absolutely stay again

  I've been to dog friendly hotels but this one is the most welcoming I have ever been to. They greeted us openly, had bowls and treats ready and even have a dog room service menu. They are thoughtful which rooms are dog rooms so it's easy to take them out to potty. The hotel is clean, in a great location, and walking along the river was nice. Will absolutely stay here again.

  Our dog loved sleeping out on the balcony overlooking the Animas River and there is an amazing huge fence.

  Right out the back door is a paved trail and a river. Super outdoor restaurant that lets you bring your pet!

  Perfect Location

  The hotel is a little dated (broken screen, slow drains), but you can't ask for a better location. It is a block from the train station, a block from a huge off leash dog park, and sits right on the bank of a beautiful river. Spend the extra money for a river view. There are plenty of places to walk your dog on or off the property. It was a great stay.

  Great location

  Riverfront room and easy access to Main Street as well as River walk and off lead massive dog park/trails and dog treats/bowl provided by the hotel to boot!

  Really big room, nice location, very dog friendly

  A nice modern hotel, huge room, clean and fresh, with a sliding door that opened straight onto grass by the river making it perfect for the dogs. A short walk into the restaurants/bars but nice and peaceful.

  Great location- Not enough communication

  The hotel has nice green spaces and is on a great riverside trail. What they didnt disclose was that their "dog friendly" restaurant was closed due to Covid, and that their outdoor restaurant did not allow dogs. It made finding food with pets a lot of work.

  Great location in a fun town!

  We have now stayed here twice with our dogs.

  The positives: staff was very dog friendly, easy access to the animas river trail or downtown (both great walks for our bulldogs!), rooms are big enough for crates, and dog friendly rooms are on the bottom level -- which makes it easy to get in and out for walking.

  The negatives: the rooms need a little TLC, they are not well soundproofed (you can hear people at all times day or night inside your room), the pet fee, and the policy that you aren't supposed to leave your dogs behind.

  Durango is an amazingly dog friendly town. We have returned to the DoubleTree, and likely would again. It is close to being a 5 bones hotel -- just needs a little updating (and a policy update too!)

  Fantastic Hotel for our Pup!

  We had a great stay here after a 9 hour driving day with our boy. We booked a river view room and had easy access out a private patio door to the grassy areas. The room was really spacious so we could easily play some tug and fetch to burn off the car energy. We will definitely stay here on our return trip home!
