Pets are now welcome in cabins

Finally, our dog was welcomed to stay with us ina Fort Wilderness cabin!!!

The price is $50 plus tax per day, not much more than boarding in a local kennel. Many Cast Members are not aware of the new policies.

At checkin, after paying fee, you will receive a Pluto bag containing bowls, a mat, and poop baggies. Pets may remain unaccompanied up-to 7 hours. It’s a good idea to bring a carrier in case you want to transport your pet. As mentioned, stay within pet friendly areas. We would hate to lose privileges because of folks who don’t follow these rules.

    Fort Wilderness Review

Love this campground but would love to see a few cabins that allow pets. Our dog is better mannered and causes less mess than some kids. Plus she is much quieter too! Wish disney would consider future pet friendly hotels or cabins.

    No Pets Allowed is Serious

When the signs say No Pets Allowed- they are serious. I walked into an area unknowingly and must have gotten repremanded three times before I could make my way out. Some cast members were more than happy to see our dog- others seemed bothered. Still really fun place to be as always!

One of the most beautiful campgrounds ever. Plenty to do, excellent bath houses, level site pads, no mosquito bites!! Close to everything and shaded!

    Tent Camping with Pets

Don't bring your pet to Fort Wilderness if you are not camping in an RV. Tent camping with pets is prohibited. We told the reservation agent that we wanted to camp in tents with dogs during our stay in November. At check-in, the cast member seemed perplexed by our reservation and "upgraded" us to an RV loop that could accommodate pets. Tent camping in the RV loop is a bad choice. The sites are very close together, paved entirely, and include full hook-ups (translation: sewer plug within a foot of your tent...ew!). Don't plan to camp in a tent at Disney World with your dogs. They do not have accommodations for tent camping with pets. ):

    Dogs Love Vacation Too

Fort Wilderness is very pet friendly as long as you have an RV. They do not allow pets in tents (which is understandable) or cabins. If you do decide to tent it or go with an RV they have great comfort stations! We went there in the evening and gave our dog a bath after being sprayed by a skunk. lol With that being said, they truly did make this campground for the dogs. There are so many beautiful paths to walk on with your dog. The dog park is fantastic! It gives your pet a chance to mingle and the adults a chance to get to know people from all over the world. I love this place and will always return.

this place is for the dogs

bandit and rocky here, and we LOVE ft wilderness. lots of places to walk (grassy and asphalt), poopie bags provided on all loops, a fenced doggie park to run off leash, and tons of other dogs to meet.

    Pet friendly? Sort of.

I agree that there are many paths for walking your dog, but there are also many places that say "NO PETS ALLOWED". If you want to enter certain areas you are told NO pets! Nice, but a bit annoying. So keep in mind that the whole area is NOT Pet Friendly
