The Days Inn was convenient for a 1 night stay. The place is dated and desperately needs an upgrade. There was mildew in shower/tub. It is across the street from what appears to be a strip club. Many people hanging outside the rooms and in the parking lot. I am not sure I would have been comfortable there if I was by myself. All in all it was just okay.

The staff at Days Inn St Augustine West was VERY friendly and helpful to my husband and me during our visit. And this was the perfect location for our stop to let our "girls" do a little beaching and play in the ocean. While we lived in FL, our favorite beach was just a few miles from here. So whenever we get to come back to FL, we LOVE to visit that beach again, and this location made that very easy to do.

I have to say that I just wanted to leave St. Augustine because of the hotel. I guess I should have done my research first, because to start, the hotel was not in a great area. There were live roaches in the room!
We left the "Do Not Disturb" sign hung on the door, but when we got back, it had been removed. Luckily it seems to have been removed after the housekeeping had gone through that area, so my pets were still in the room when we got back, otherwise, the pets might have run out. A room where smoking is allowed should not smell as bad as this one did. It made Cody throw up the first night. The manager at the front desk appears to live there. He was asleep so soundly on the lobby sofa when I went to check out, I had to wake him up. Definitely disappointing.

Bad overall experience but it was good that it was available as a last minute motel that allows dogs. Just about everything was imperfect from start to finish. Pretty much the only good thing was the check out and the location close to a few good stores and 95.

Bathroom dirty, old chicken wings in microwave, a/c filters clogged and furniture sticky. Called office and they said staff would be right over. Never showed.

Rooms were clean and perfect for our dog. It was the only place that I could find in that area at a budget price, that allowed pets (only $10 per night) and had a refrigerator in the room (which we needed for our dogs food and was nice for cold drinks as well for us humans.) We also liked that it was an outside entrance to our room and we could keep an easy eye on our vehicle and it was easy to take our dog out for potty breaks. There were plenty of grassy areas around the hotel to do this. (Pets are not allowed on the grass in the courtyard, so getting a parking lot side room was important.) The IHOP is connected to the office and they give 10% off if you show your room key, an easy walk from any room.) Overall it was a nice clean place to stay for the 2 nights we needed it while we were having some repairs done on our RV. The only con for us was the evening noise outside in the parking lot and coming through the walls from the adjoining rooms, but that can be typical of any hotel and is not the fault of the hotel, just disrespect of the other people staying there. Plus we were used to the quiet of camping and staying in our RV and not hotel life. We actually felt like we were "roughing it". I would recommend this hotel if your looking for something inexpensive, allows pets, has a refrigerator and microwave, and is a pretty easy drive to downtown St. Augustine or if you need something right off I95. The staff was also very nice and accommodating.

The best feature is that it is very close to the historic district & the beach. It has all of the basic amenities. IHOP is right there which is very convenient. Another added bonus is that you can literally walk from the back of the parking lot to the Premium Outlet. So you can avoid the hassle of driving & dealing with the traffic at the mall

Super nice lobby staff! Room was fine, very clean and well maintained. No complaints at all! Plenty of space around the property to walk my dog. But, had to be careful to avoid some construction materials left around. There is an IHOP off the lobby which I didn't visit but. it's a nice convenience.
