We had dog trials at St Pete’s Dog Club which was quarter of a mile away, the top inside rooms had a nice out look of the pool, outside rooms not so nice. It’s old but for the price it was good. Will go back next year when we come again.
This wasn’t the greatest hotel. It provided a bed and bathroom for us, as we only stayed there one night (and checked in about 12:30 am), but that was about it. The bathtub appeared stained in the tub part, the toilet was loose to the floor, the appearance of the place, itself, was very old, worn, and needed upgrades.
The front desk and cleaning crew were great. However, the rooms reek of smoke and cleaning product. Surprising since there are solid surface floors. Some air circulation should be required in these places. An energy recovery ventilator would solve the issue. Alas it's the same at a lot of budget places along the 95 corridor.
Checking in was good! Roy was friendly and knowledgeable. Upon opening the door to the room, I smelled beer. The room smelled of alcohol and smoke. It said “No Smoking” but there was an ashtray by the bed. Being very tired I tried to igore it. Upon opening the bathroom light...I saw cockeroaches scatter. Gross! I slept with all the lights on and left first thing in the morning. There was awful stains on the curtains, the bathtub was not anywhere I would shower. I usually stay at Red Roof bcause of my dog. Never again😩
