Room #7 - Ten Bits Gazette
Big Bend National Park and Big Bend State Park area lodging with a unique West Texas old town experience.
Ten Bits Ranch has some of the most beautiful views in the Big Bend region of Texas.
The rugged off grid Ten Bits Ranch site was chosen for its breathtaking views of the dark sky stars, red craggy rocks and the beautiful sunrise and sunset over the surrounding mountains.
Guests of Ten Bits Ranch may hike and explore over 550 private acres of Ten Bits Ranch land at their leisure. Ten Bits Ranch is your own personal National Park without all the rules and restrictions of hiking the public land.
Guests may have a complimentary self-serve continental breakfast or prepare your own meal 24/7 in the full guest kitchen and dining area in the shared Cantina space.
Ten Bits Ranch is just (20) minutes from the Big Bend National Park entrance and (20) minutes from the historic Terlingua Ghost Town. Ten Bits Ranch is (20) minutes from local activities like the Big Bend rafting companies, Big Bend Stables horseback riding and the local bars & restaurants like the famous La Kiva Restaurant & Bar, Longdraw Pizza, Starlight Theatre, DB’s Rustic Iron BBQ, Chili Pepper Cafe and High Sierra Bar & Grill.
Ten Bits Ranch is (35) minutes from the amazing Big Bend Ranch State Park and the beautiful Lajitas Golf Resort.
Ten Bits Ranch has everything that you need to be comfortable (WiFi, AC, gas & electric heat, satellite television). The entire property is off grid and powered by the one of the largest (57.6 kW) privately owned solar power systems in Texas.
Experience REAL West Texas off grid living in the Big Bend region with your own off grid oasis and 550-acre private park.
Hike and explore right outside your room without the rules and limitations of the public parks. Hike with your pet, bring your ATV or motorcycle, build a fire, visit our shooting range or just have a drink, smoke a cigar or read a book on the porch or by the firepit and look at the beautiful mountains on the hotel property. Let the hundreds of acres and nearly complete freedom create a unique Big Bend experience.
Ten Bits Ranch has some of the best views of the famous Big Bend stars. Since Ten Bits Ranch is completely off grid and located on 550 private acres, there are no neighbors and no ground lights to obscure the perfectly dark night sky.
The amazing solitude is extremely quiet and peaceful day or night. If you come to Ten Bits Ranch when the moon cycle is dark, after 20 minutes (for your eyes to adjust), the stars will appear to surround you like a blanket. Be sure to watch for shooting stars. There is a shooting star in view at Ten Bits Ranch almost every week. Ten Bits Ranch offers a truly private, unique, off grid, dark sky star gazing experience that few people have the opportunity to see in person. The craggy Chimney Rock Mountain blocks out a beautiful black jagged silhouette in the blanket of stars.
Well-behaved pets (and well-behaved people) are welcome at Ten Bits Ranch. Hike and explore at your leisure with both your 2 and 4 legged friends.
Thank you for considering Ten Bits Ranch for your Big Bend Adventure. Wherever you choose to stay, the Big Bend area is a wild, unique and a truly beautiful place that is well worth the trip.
