XV Beacon
XV Beacon welcomes dogs of any size for an additional fee of $50 per stay. However, 50% of the pet fee is donated to a local animal organization. Dogs may not be left in the room unattended. Four-legged guests receive homemade biscuits, pet beds, and water bowls at check-in. Dog walkers and pet sitters may be arranged in advance for an additional fee. Guests can also walk their dogs across the street at Boston Common. Cats are not accepted. For same day arrivals, please call 877‑411‑3436 to confirm availability of a pet-friendly room.

XV Beacon is a restored Beaux Arts building atop historic Beacon Hill less than two blocks from Boston Common, and approximately three miles from Logan International Airport. Adjacent to the Massachusetts State House the hotel is located one block from the Old Granary Burial Ground, four blocks from Boston's theater district, half a mile from Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, one mile from the Paul Revere House and Newbury Street shopping, two miles from Fenway Park and four miles from Harvard Square. Hotel amenities include the Federalist, an award-winning restaurant with Euro-New England cuisine and a wine cellar boasting 1,860 selections and 21,000 bottles of fine and rare wines that include a 1907 Heidsieck Monopole rescued from a schooner sunk by a German U-boat. Room service is available 24 hours a day. The building still uses the original cage elevator and its cast-brass railing with brass newel post. Guest services include a fleet of three S500 Mercedes chauffeured sedans, complimentary overnight shoeshine and personal residence cards with private telephone and fax numbers. A small fitness room and rooftop hot tub are on site. Guests seeking more comprehensive facilities have complimentary access to the Fitcorp Health Club across the street. All rooms feature gas fireplaces, canopied beds, custom-designed furnishings, original artwork, minibars, complimentary bottled water, Kiehl's bath products, free high-speed Internet access, voicemail, remote-control lighting, CD players and fresh flowers arranged daily by an in-house florist.

The staff was very friendly and helpful when our Great Dane was timid to enter the building. The rooms are lovely, plenty of space for Chief to move around and the windows were just the right height for him to see the view of Beacon Street. XVB was accommodating with attractive dog bowls, bottle water and a dog bed placed near the fireplace. I had hoped for a welcome treat or toy, or at least something for purchase, but no one inquired when I booked the connecting rooms what breed of dog we were bringing. Granted our check-in was a bit chaotic, but details in our welcome packets with instructions about where pets should relieve themselves would have been extra helpful in addition to the myriad of food menus. Chief settled in after a while and we had a nice time at XVB, but for our next visit to this particular property, we will leave the dog and kids at home. We are still looking for the best dog-friendly hotel experience in Boston.

Safe Stay: XV Beacon has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay. Social distancing measures are in place, as well as physical barriers between staff and guests. Contactless check-in and check-out are available. Each room has a 24-hour gap period between stays, and hotel staff are required to wear masks.
