Podere Sant'alessandro
Every inch of this southern Tuscan gem, set in the heart of the Grosseto countryside, says: ‘La Dolce Vita.’ The incredibly attractive stone built house and gardens are immaculately presented making this the perfect luxurious holiday retreat for a large family or group of friends. The experience begins with the classic cypress-tree lined driveway and continues with interiors that wouldn’t look out of place in a style magazine. Guests won’t know whether to admire the far-reaching rural views through plentiful windows and French doors or the light-filled open plan living spaces dressed with original beams, French-style furniture and paintings.
Outside there are seemingly unlimited spaces in which to soak up the sun and the views. Generous expanses of lawn are complemented by a large private pool area, with a five-star hotel feel, lined with large terracotta potted palms, trees and plenty of sun beds. Here is you’ll find a large, comfortably furnished gazebo with lanterns for romantic swims and relaxation. Other features include a loggia furnished with a table and chairs, as well as a sofa and chairs running along one side of the property, meaning guests can indulge in relaxed meals, while another on the top floor provides the ultimate photo opportunities with far- reaching views in two directions.
It’s hard to leave this glamorous setting but sea lovers will want to make the 8km trip to the Marina of Scarlino at the southern end of the bay of Follonica where fishing boats land their catch and leisure boats leave to visit the islands that make up the Tuscan Archipelago. From here sandy beaches, furnished with trendy beach clubs and eateries, stretch for 20km around the bay. Inland, golfers have a 9km drive across Scarlino's fertile valley floor to the pristine Golf Club Toscana with its rolling hills backdrop and olive grove boarders.
Whatever the excursion returning to Podere Sant'Alessandro from all directions you notice locally grown fresh produce sellers tempting you with their delicious displays and open acres of vineyards inviting wine lovers in for tastings. Back home the villa's house keeper will take care of dinner for you on request so you can sit back and reflect on another perfect day in your coastal, countryside, Tuscany ideal. The caretaker and his wife live in the neighbouring property. 2 hours maid service on Monday, Wednesday and Friday is included.
