      Beware bogus pet fees

      The Hampton Inn at Wolf Road in Albany has a convenient location, a great grassy area for pet walking, the rooms are clean and quiet, and the check-in staff is courteous. I’m happy to pay the $50 pet fee as advertised. But there is no excuse for the hotel overcharging me $100 extra pet fees including a “pet manual fee.” What next, a “walking on the grass” fee? It took 3 phone calls and a very discourteous exchange with a desk agent to get the fee rebated to my credit card. Except 10 days later it isn’t yet rebated and may not be for another 3 weeks. I’d advise customers to carefully check the paper copy of their bill for bogus overcharges before they check out.

      Great staff!

      The front desk staff was helpful. We booked a King room and he made sure to give us one. He also got us on the first floor. The room was clean and fresh. Also the cook offered to make another customer eggs without pork as the omelet had pork.
