    Great Spot for Dogs

Clean room, nice people, really good little restaurant, and best of all lots of room to walk your dog. Unlike most dog-friendly hotels that have a small area reserved for dogs, if they even have that, the Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites had an area with some room to walk around with your pup. Our room even opened up onto the "reserved" green space for dogs. We will definitely stay there again.

    We will be back!

Excellent location for travels to/from AZ when snow birding. Warm, welcoming staff. Rooms are spacious, and while a bit dated, upgrades have been made and everything was impeccably clean. We enjoyed a nice quiet night, quick grab and go breakfast and plenty of trips to the large fenced in dog area.

We enjoyed the variety of services (cafe, spa). Clean, convenient accommodations, and the beautiful grounds overlooking the Ashland Hills.

    Easy Stay with Pets

They make it really easy and enjoyable to travel with pets. There’s plenty of green grass on the property to walk the dogs. Room service was so convenient and affordable too. We all enjoyed our stay.

    Dirty, Outdated, Sketchy Rooms

This hotel's lobby was nice, but our room was terrible. The carpet looked very old, the room smelled odd, the furniture and decor was stuck in 70s motel vibes. The bathroom walls were an off yellow color. Not worth the costs compared to other hotels nearby. Sliding doors open to balcony, which is useless when traveling with a dog. Grassy area not far for dog potty trips, but tricky for our great dane to navigate (those stairs with the spaces in between were everywhere). The hallways smelled of cigarettes and musty carpet. Not easy to access or roll luggage in due to stairs and oddly placed entrance doors. The TV had a grey, dull color to the picture. What was I paying for? Will not stay again.

    Very dog friendly

We have stayed here 3 times in the past few years. Overall it’s a great experience - staff is very friendly and helpful. What I like best is that the dog rooms are all on the first floor and the rooms have a sliding glass door out to the grassy area, so it’s easy to have your dog go potty. The buffet breakfast has a wide variety of options for healthy eaters (yogurt, hard boiled eggs) and those who like heartier fare (waffles, etc). A nice benefit is that they sell bottles of wine and cans of beer at the front desk - great if you’re arriving late like we typically do. The decor is mid-century modern. The hotel is super close to the highway so convenient if you’re traveling. Safe parking - well lit. Mini fridge in room. Only negative is that sometimes you can hear people walking in rooms above but the positives far outweigh that and it’s a great value overall and we will return.

    Nice grounds, dog friendly

Staff were very helpful, particularly with dog. If we stay here again, I will call in advance, because I was told pet requests don’t always come through.

    Great for pets!

Great place for pets with balconies and access to the outdoors. Not so great outside of that. Confused reservations. Did get the room we reserved and the charged us at the hotel even though the reservation was prepaid and for two nights instead of the one night we actually booked. Front desk needs to learn how to pay attention when checking in guests to make sure it’s the correct reservation instead of telling us we were wrong. Thank god for BringFido and Emma. She fixed it for us by contacting the hotel.

    Disappointing

The lobby was beautiful, but the rooms were extremely outdated. The photos definitely make it look nicer than it is. The staff was okay, not the friendliest. Also, both of our keys stopped working after the first night. We left the keys in our car while we hiked with our pup all day so we know it wasn’t our phones that deactivated them. Not the best experience when you’re exhausted from a long day and your room is in a different building than the main lobby.

Ashland Hills, family of 4 with big dog

The "resort" aspect of Ashland Hills is dated and needs to be freshened up, but it is a great place for dogs! Dogs can even come into he breakfast buffet. My kids also really enjoyed the outdoor pool. The breakfast buffet was limited, due to covid, but you can still make your own waffles and they have a pretty good spread. We will be back.

    Gone downhill

The hotel was incredibly noisy during our last stay, which triggered our dog to bark. Some of the noise was from carpet replacement, but other noise was from elephants in the room above us and kids running in the rooms and halls at all hours. There was also a pervasive smell of marijuana. The pet area outside had a lot of dog poop just left there which was very different from prior visits. We were in a double suite and there were tears in the carpet and sofa bed. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable to sit on as the pads continually slipped forward towards the floor. We have always loved this hotel and have stayed here many times. It was very sad and disappointing to see it decline.

Great stop in Ashland - food at the restaurant was yummy. Room was very clean and bed comfortable. Plenty of spots for the dog to wonder and do her business. We’d stay again.

    Excellent Facility with Convenient Access

Will always stay here if possible while on the road. A suite room is the way to go with a larger pet such as our Lab. Good breakfast, great firm mattress, pleasant staff. Nice environment...with pickleball courts even!

Great spot between SF and Portland

We stayed one night on our way down to the Bay Area. The hotel has a wing for dogs — the room was nice and they have a good sized lawn area with some amenities for the dogs. The restaurant and free breakfast was good.

    Very convenient

It's a little confusing if you pull in at night, but it works out. The hotel was clean and convenient, with a complimentary breakfast and a little cafe. PLUS a nice big dog area out back. We'd stop here again :)

    Roomy room, adequate grounds

We enjoyed our stay, the room was bigger than I am used to in a hotel, that was nice. There was a couple grassy areas outside for the dog to potty on, she appreciated that. We are night owls, though and the breakfast wasn't served late enough, and the restaurant closed rather early for us too, so we out on that.

    We Will Be Back!

Fantastic property! We loved to close access to the highway and also close to town for dining and activities. They were very accommodating to our dog and the whole property was dog friendly. Had a great bite to eat in their cafe and they accommodated the pooch on the patio deck. A good sized area for dog relief and even provides bags and garbage can in the pet area. We stayed in a suite which was comfortable and quiet. We are looking forward to staying here again in a few days as we head home from our vacation. Very friendly staff throughout property.

    Great Stay!

We decided to book a room on our cross country trip after reading all the great reviews! Our room was spacious and comfortable. The Luna Cafe was a nice surprise and we happily dined at the cafe our first night in Ashland. There was even a free wine tasting and live music! The only down side was that our poor doggie got sick in the room and we were charged a $75 cleaning fee (on top of the pet fee we already paid!!) even though we alerted the cleaning staff immediately and cleaned up ourselves. :(
