Hidden Springs Campground - two stars. Mosquitoes here. The overall campground is hilly, but there are somewhat flat spots on each site. Sites are still pretty small, some would only fit one tent. Each site can fit one car on a paved parking spot. Hidden Springs is a pretty campground, but NOT old growth (appears to have been forested). I much preferred the old trees at Burlington. Hidden Springs is much more private than Burlington. I would guess Hidden Springs is older. There are 155 sites at Hidden Springs; however, dozens were closed for maintenance (tree trimming, soil erosion, pavement erosion, wood railings broken).
In fact, an entire loop was closed for repair. Also, checked in only to find out all the showers were out of service at Hidden Springs. The employee told me they had a power outage. Power came on, hot water in sinks, but still no showers. Another camper told me the shower issue was actually that the quarter machines were full. It's really unacceptable to take walk-in campers and not tell them there are no showers. This camper said this is not he first time she has encountered this situation. It's also not acceptable to have no showers in the entire campground simply due to quarters needing to be emptied. Would like to see this campground renovated.
