We had an exceptional stay at Charleston Place! Their customer service was fantastic for both humans and dogs alike! It was no problem to have our girl walk through the lobby and hang out in our room. She was comfortable and so were we!

Great hotel in heart of Charleston. Staff is warm and friendly and it is very pet friendly. We have a 10 pound dog and he was well behaved, so no issues whatsoever. Great rooftop pool, spa and bar - really good facility. Make sure to use it. We stayed on Club level and that was a great decision. Reid and other staff were excellent hosts. Will def stay there next visit!

What a treat to stay at the premier hotel in Charleston and one that welcomes dogs. The staff from the bellman to the valet to the front desk experience was friendly and professional. It this was our first time in Charleston but won’t be our last and the only hotel at which we will stay. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed the club level (worth it!) of the Charleston Place with our two dogs. Great spot to walk them in the morning across the street from the hotel’s main entrance. Charleston is a very dog friendly city and the hotel is very welcoming to dogs.

Staff and fellow guests were all kind to Beau. Great hotel. But be aware you really can’t leave your dog alone in the room if there is any chance he is going to bark.

After reading other reviews I was a bit amazed how highly recommended this hotel is for pets. We were charged $150 pet fee for a 2 night visit and were told the dog was never allowed to be in the room alone. Further, the dogs were not allowed anywhere but the lobby area. We have a 20 lb Schnoodle who is
the calmest and cleanest dog you could ever meet. Also, most “pet friendly” hotels have a grassy area for your pets business...the Belmond offers a mulched small area with a dog bag station. We found it better to go across the street to a parking area that had multiple grassy islands and space for our pooch to be comfortable.
This is a gorgeous hotel but doesn’t do anything deserving of their ludicrous pet fee. - GingerMore than a year agoSpacious rooms and a smart shower
First off, let's get out of the way the small fact that we paid more for this room than I'd like to admit. That being said, the hotel has been top notch. Our room was spacious, even with our large dog crate. The fifth floor had recently been remodeled, which was evident in the upscale bathroom. No tub, but the walk in shower with glass, and bonus wand shower head made dog baths a walk in the park.
The hotel was in a great location. A five minute walk to dog-friendly dining and shopping galore all in the heart of the downtown historic district.

Safe Stay: The Charleston Place has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay and sealed after cleaning. Social distancing measures are in place, as well as physical barriers between staff and guests. Contactless check-in and check-out are available. Hotel staff are required to wear masks.
