Very nice room, breakfast in bed, afternoon tea at this beautiful B&B. Very close to walk to the historic district, and not too far to the city market. Love the architecture. Very nice staff. They loved our puppies, welcomed them with treats!

The Inn allowed a large dog with a pet fee. The property was beautiful and so well maintained. The staff were so helpful and the afternoon tea and breakfast included in cost of the room were amazing.

Over the years I have stayed at many Bed and Breakfast Inns all over the country. I would rate the John Rutledge House s one of the best. All of the staff, particularly Margo, were superb. She along with all of the other staff made one feel important, special and right at home. Sophie loved it. We will definitely return.

This facility was built in 1763, but it features a free off street parking lot, very helpful in the narrow streets of old Charleston. Fabulous southern hospitality on display by all staff , to the point of driving me to a local hospital ER for an illness (unrelated to B&B) .
