There was nothing special about this place. We stayed on the 16th floor and the hotel corridor wasn't very wide, which made it difficult to pass people and other dogs each day to go outside. The beach is the only place near the hotel to comfortably walk a dog.
The accommodations are good right on the beach but other than the beach there is no place for Fido to play. No grassy place to do business. So it was ok.
My husband and I were looking to stay here, however our fur baby is a (pit bull) which is one of the dog breeds that are not allowed. Our 12 year old Lily is one of the sweetest dogs and would never harm or scare anyone. Lily hardly ever barks either. We have encountered many other small dog breeds that are allowed here, that are not quite as friendly or quiet. I am just so hurt that these listed breeds that aren’t allowed is so unfair. Any breed can be difficult and then should be banned if a problem occurs. Shame on Westgate Resorts.
This was one of the only hotels available on short notice in my price range that I could also bring my dogs to. When I initially arrived right at 4pm my room was not ready, but the hotel did upgrade me because I had to wait for so long. Other than that, the hotel was very nice and clean and in a great location. Definitely recommend.
The entire Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Our pooch felt like she was right at home. Most hotels do not allow dogs and if they do only small dogs. Nice to have a hotel directly on the beach which allows larger dogs but didn't love the $170 pet fee.
